Daniel Esposito
Daniel Esposito (born 25 November 1963) is an Australian modern pentathlete. He competed at the modern pentathlon event 1984 Summer Olympics. Shortly before the Summer Olympics in Seoul in 1988, he was injured and then didn't compete. He is the father and coach of Chloe Esposito, who won gold in the women's modern pentathlon at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and Max Esposito Max Esposito (born 16 June 1997) is an Australian modern pentathlete. Modern Pentathlon
The modern pentathlon is an Olympic sport consisting of fencing (one-touch épée), freestyle swimming, equestrian show jumping, pistol shooting, and cross country running. The event is inspired by the traditional pentathlon held during the ancient Olympics. The modern pentathlon was first held in 1912, and its rules have changed several times over the years. The latest structure, as of the 2020 Olympics, consists of three separate events for fencing, swimming, and equestrian, which determine each athlete's starting time in the final event. The last event, called the laser-run, alternates four legs of laser pistol shooting followed by an 800 m run (for 3200 m in total). Max Esposito
Max Esposito (born 16 June 1997) is an Australian modern pentathlete. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the men's event. He was the youngest athlete in the race and finished seventh. Esposito has also competed in one Youth Olympic Games and one World Modern Pentathlon Championships. Early life Max Esposito is the son of Daniel Esposito, who competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics in the modern pentathlon. His sister Chloe Esposito won a gold medal in the women's modern pentathlon at the 2016 Summer Olympics and another sister, Emily, is a sports shooter who competed at the 2010 Youth Olympics and 2014 Commonwealth Games. Chloe Esposito (born 19 September 1991) is an Australian shooter and modern pentathlon competitor. She competed at the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games in the 10 m air pistol. She represented Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics, London, in the modern pentathlon and won the gold medal in the same event at the 2016 Summer Olympics, Rio de Janeiro. Personal life Esposito was born on 19 September 1991 in Camden, New South Wales. She is from and lives in the Sydney area. She attended St Francis Xavier (NSW, Australia) before going to Mount Saint Joseph for high school. She competed at the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games in the 10 m air pistol.
