Daniel Arnold is a Canadian actor and writer based in Vancouver, British Columbia. He is most noted as cowriter with Darrell Dennis and Medina Hahn of ''Inheritance: a pick-the-path experience'', a stage play which was shortlisted for the Governor General's Award for English-language drama at the 2022 Governor General's Awards. ''Inheritance: a pick-the-path experience'' is a stage play about indigenous land claims which features points at which the audience can vote on the direction the story would take, requiring the actors to be prepared for at least 50 different possible permutations of the performance. Born in Nelson, British Columbia, and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, he studied theatre at the University of Alberta as a classmate of Hahn, with whom he has remained closely associated as partners in the DualMinds theatre company. Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Award
The Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Award (also known as the Sterling Award) is a local Edmonton, Alberta award presented annually which honours excellence in theatre. The award covers a number of categories, including production, performance, direction, writing, choreography, and design, as well as a special award recognizing achievement in theatre administration. Named after Elizabeth Sterling Haynes, who helped establish and nurture Edmonton professional theatre in the early 20th century, the award was established in 1987. Each winner receives a metal statuette, plated in silver. 15th Canadian Comedy Awards
The 15th Canadian Comedy Awards, presented by the Canadian Comedy Foundation for Excellence (CCFE), honoured the best live, television, film, and Internet comedy of 2013. The awards ceremony was hosted by Tom Green and held at the Ottawa Little Theatre on 14 September 2014. Canadian Comedy Awards, also known as Beavers, were awarded in 30 categories. The Canadian Comedy Awards (CCA) is an annual ceremony that awards the Beaver for achievements in Canadian comedy in live performance, radio, film, television, and Internet media. Richard Maynard (photographer)
Richard Maynard (1832–1907) was a Canadian photographer known mainly for his landscape views taken throughout British Columbia, along coastal Alaska and on the Pribiloff Islands of the Bering Sea. Early life He was born in Stratton, Cornwall, on February 22, 1832. When he was two years old, his family moved to the nearby town of Bude. As a boy he first went to sea, working the coastal trade between England and Wales. Maynard was also apprenticed early on to learn the shoemaker's trade, and so he made boots in the winter and worked as a sailor in the summer. In 1852 he met and married Hannah Hatherly. The couple soon emigrated to Canada, settling in Bowmanville, now part of Ontario. In June 1859, he left to join the Fraser River gold rush in British Columbia where he apparently had some success mining.
