Dana Falconberry
Dana Falconberry is an American songwriter and musician originally from Dearborn, Michigan later based in Austin, Texas. She is known for her songwriting that focuses on themes of nature and wildlife. Since 2011, she has mostly played (both live and on record) backed by her five-piece band composed of Christopher Cox, Gina Dvorak, Karla Manzur, Matthew Shepherd, and Lindsey Verrill. History Originally interested in pursuing dance and choreography, Falconberry attended Hendrix College in Arkansas where she learned to play guitar and write songs. She moved to Austin in 2004 to turn her focus towards music. While in Austin, she fostered a career as a singer-songwriter, recording three albums, and touring the US, Portugal, Japan, the UK, and France. She also spent time as a singer in the folk band Peter and the Wolf. The Austin City Limits (ACL) Music Festival is an annual music festival held in Zilker Park in Austin, Texas on two consecutive three-day weekends. Inspired by the KLRU/PBS music series of the same name, the festival is produced by Austin-based company C3 Presents, which also produces Chicago's Lollapalooza. The ACL Music Festival has eight stages where musical groups from genres including rock, indie, country, folk, electronic, and hip hop perform for fans. Noise Pop Festival is an annual week-long music and arts festival that takes place throughout the San Francisco Bay Area produced by Noise Pop. Califone is an experimental rock band from Chicago. The band is named after Califone International, an audio equipment manufacturer. Their work has been critically acclaimed. Heartless Bastards are an American rock band formed in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2003. The band has released six albums. History Heartless Bastards originally started as a recording project of Erika Wennerstrom. She played most of the instruments and featured David Colvin on drums, along with contributions from Reuben Glaser on lead guitar and Jesse Ebaugh on bass. A five-song demo was recorded in December 2002 at Ultrasuede Studios by Shannon McGee. Wennerstrom put together a live band and played the first live show at The Comet, a bar in the Cincinnati community of Northside, in August 2003. The live lineup came to be a three-piece with Kevin Vaughn on drums and Mike Lamping on bass.
