Dan Wood is an English broadcaster, DJ, podcaster and video producer. Background Wood studied New Media Production and English Language at the University of Lincoln while pursuing a career in broadcasting, website creation and DJ work. Career Wood has worked as an on-air radio personality for several UK radio networks including Global Radio and Bauer Media since 2001. He currently presents the weekday mid-morning show on Gem 106 in the East Midlands and programmes on the Free Radio network. Previously, Wood presented 'Music On Demand' a daily nationally syndicated programme across 38 radio stations on GCap Media's The One Network from 2007-2009, along with regular shows on GWR FM and Red Dragon FM. He was also heard on various Emap Radio stations in the 2000s, including Viking FM, Radio Aire, Metro Radio, The Hits Radio and Heat radio. Pure Dance
Pure Dance was a UK radio station specialising in dance music. It broadcast on digital satellite television, and by Internet, in Windows Media, RealPlayer and mp3PRO. Typical music included trance, hardcore, old skool, and the very latest straight from the clubs. The channel began falling silent for long periods of time in January 2006, with its website and webstreams going offline. It was removed from the Sky EPG in March 2006 after having not transmitted any audio for over two weeks. Dreem Teem
The Dreem Teem are a British DJ, music production and remixing trio consisting of DJ Spoony, Mikee B, and Timmi Magic. They formed in 1996 through pirate radio, and were instrumental in developing the UK garage sound. They presented radio shows on Kiss 100 (1997-2000) and BBC Radio 1 (2000-2003). Biography The Dreem Teem were formed in 1996 after meeting on the London pirate radio station, London Underground FM. Mikee B had previously been part of the breakbeat hardcore trio Top Buzz. Through London Underground, they became key movers in the then developing UK garage genre, while also running their own record label, DJs for Life. DJ EZ (pronounced "DJ ee zed") is a UK garage DJ from Tottenham, North London. He was one of the earliest proponents of UK garage music, hosting a long-running Kiss 100 radio show and mixing the ''Pure Garage'' series of compilations. Biography DJ EZ was born in London and raised in Tottenham, North London. His early discovery and love of house, hip hop and electro led to listening to pirate radio and recording early mixes in the hope to land a show on them. He is a supporter of Tottenham Hotspur F.C. Radio DJ EZ first started DJing on the pirate radio station Dance 93FM, playing house music. At this time, he was known as Easy O. UK Garage
UK garage, abbreviated as UKG, is a genre of electronic dance music which originated in England in the early to mid-1990s. The genre was most clearly inspired by garage house, but also incorporates elements from dance-pop, R&B, and jungle. It is defined by percussive, shuffled rhythms with syncopated hi-hats, cymbals, and snares, and may include either 4/4 house kick patterns or more irregular " 2-step" rhythms. Garage tracks also commonly feature 'chopped up' and time-stretched or pitch-shifted vocal samples complementing the underlying rhythmic structure at a tempo usually around 130 BPM. Andrew Nicholas Oliver and Philip Edward Oliver, together known as the Oliver Twins, are British twin brothers and video game designers. They began to professionally develop computer games while they were still at school, contributing their first type-in game to a magazine in 1983.
