Dan Sahlin
Dan Sahlin (born 18 April 1967) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a forward. A late bloomer, Sahlin did not turn professional until the age of 28 when he signed for the Allsvenskan club Hammarby IF in 1995. While at Örebro SK, he became the 1997 Allsvenskan top scorer alongside Mats Lilienberg and Christer Mattiasson. He also briefly represented Birmingham City and AaB. He won three caps for the Sweden national team between 1995 and 1997. Club career Sahlin was born in Falun. He began his football career with Nynäshamns IF, and later played for Division 3 club Västerhaninge IF while also playing bandy at elite level. Sahlin came late into top-class football: he was nearly 28 years of age when, after lengthy negotiations, he joined Allsvenskan club Hammarby IF in February 1995. Forwards (also known as attackers) are outfield positions in an association football team who play the furthest up the pitch and are therefore most responsible for scoring goals as well as assisting them. Christer Mattiasson
Björn Ove Christer Mattiasson (born 29 July 1971) is a Swedish football manager and former player. He most notably played for IF Elfsborg, AIK, and Djurgårdens IF and made two appearances for the Sweden national team. He was the Allsvenskan top scorer of 1997. Club career Starting off his career with Byttorps IF, Mattiasson made his Allsvenskan debut with IF Elfsborg and was the 1997 Allsvenskan top scorer with the team. He later signed with AIK ahead of the 1999 Allsvenskan season where he helped AIK win the 1998–99 Svenska Cupen and played in the 1999–2000 UEFA Champions League. IF Elfsborg
Idrottsföreningen Elfsborg, more commonly known as IF Elfsborg or simply Elfsborg (), is a professional football club based in Borås, Sweden, and is affiliated to the Västergötlands Fotbollförbund. They play in the Allsvenskan and have spent most of their history in the top tier of Swedish football. Their homeground is Borås Arena, where they have played since 17 April 2005. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. The Football League First Division was a division of the Football League in England from 1888 until 2004. It was the top division in the English football league system from the season 1888–89 until 1991–92, a century in which the First Division's winning club became English men's football champions. In sports leagues, promotion and relegation is a process where teams are transferred between multiple divisions based on their performance for the completed season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are often called open leagues. In a system of promotion and relegation, the best-ranked team(s) in the lower division are ''promoted'' to the higher division for the next season, and the worst-ranked team(s) in the higher division are ''relegated'' to the lower division for the next season. Svenska Cupen (, ''The Swedish Cup'') is a knockout cup competition in Swedish football and the main Swedish football cup. Svenska Cupen usually refers to the men's tournament, although a women's tournament is also held. Each year 96 teams compete, comprising the 16 teams from Allsvenskan and the 16 teams of Superettan together with 64 teams from lower tiers of the league system. Penalty cards are used in many sports as a means of warning, reprimanding or penalising a player, coach or team official. Penalty cards are most commonly used by referees or umpires to indicate that a player has committed an offence.
