Damien McGrane
Damien McGrane (born 13 April 1971) is an Irish professional golfer. Early life and career McGrane was born in Kells, County Meath, Ireland. He turned professional in 1991. McGrane has had full status on the European Tour since 2003, and has earned over €3.5m in prize-money. He clinched his first European Tour Title on 20 April 2008 at the Volvo China Open, winning by nine strokes, and ended the 2008 season ranked in the top thirty of the Order of Merit for the first time. He retired from the European Tour in 2015 after losing his card. McGrane now plays regularly on the Irish PGA Regional tour. He won the Irish PGA Championship in 2016 and 2019. Kells, County Meath
Kells (; ) is a town in County Meath, Ireland. The town lies off the M3 motorway, from Navan and from Dublin. Along with other towns in County Meath, it is within the " commuter belt" for Dublin, and had a population of 6,135 as of the 2016 census. It is best known as the site of Kells Abbey, from which the Book of Kells takes its name. Asian Tour
The Asian Tour is the principal men's professional golf tour in Asia except for Japan, which has its own Japan Golf Tour, which is also a full member of the International Federation of PGA Tours. Official money events on the tour count for World Golf Ranking points. The Asian Tour is administered from Singapore. It is controlled by a board with a majority of professional golfers, and a Tournament Players Committee of its player members, supported by an executive team. PGA Cup
The PGA Cup is a men's golf competition for club professionals played between a Great Britain and Ireland team and a United States team. The winning team is presented with the Llandudno Trophy. The competition is run by the British PGA and the PGA of America. It was first played in 1973 and was an annual event until 1984, after which it became biennial. The 2022 event was held at the Foxhills Golf Club in Surrey, England, the second time that the course had been chosen to host the event. The Open Championship
The Open Championship, often referred to as The Open or the British Open, is the oldest golf tournament in the world, and one of the most prestigious. Founded in 1860, it was originally held annually at Prestwick Golf Club in Scotland. Later the venue rotated between a select group of coastal links golf courses in the United Kingdom. It is organised by the R&A. The Open is one of the four men's major golf tournaments, the others being the Masters Tournament, the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open. Since the PGA Championship moved to May in 2019, the Open has been chronologically the fourth and final major tournament of the year. It is held in mid-July. David Horsey (golfer)
David Horsey (born 14 April 1985) is an English professional golfer who currently plays on the European Tour. He has won four events on the tour between 2010 and 2015. Amateur career Horsey had a successful amateur career, which included winning the 2005 Greek Amateur Championship and finishing as runner-up in the 2004 English Amateur. He turned professional in 2007 after representing Great Britain and Ireland at the Walker Cup. Horsey appeared twice as an amateur at the Challenge Tour's Oceânico Developments Pro-Am Challenge, held near his home, finishing in a tie for 13th in 2007. The Russian Open was a golf tournament on the European Tour. The event was established in 1993, and was first held at the Moscow Country Club in Nakhabino, just outside Krasnogorsk, Moscow Oblast, Russia. History Originally contested over the first nine holes at the Moscow Country Club as an amateur tournament while the rest of the course was still under construction, the Russian Open became Russia's first professional golf tournament in 1994. It became an event on the second-tier Challenge Tour in 1996, and was added to the European Tour schedule from 2003. The 2014 European Tour was the sixth edition of the Race to Dubai and the 43rd season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. The schedule comprised 49 tournaments counting for the Race to Dubai, including the four major championships and four World Golf Championships, and concluded with four Final Series events culminating at the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai at the end of November. Oliver Wilson
Oliver John Wilson (born 14 September 1980) is an English professional golfer. Wilson was a member of the 2008 Ryder Cup, but had to wait another six years for his first European Tour win, the 2014 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Amateur career Wilson was born in Mansfield, England, where his golfing career began at Coxmoor Golf Club, having been a junior at Oakmere Park Golf Club. He played collegiately at Augusta State University. Professional career Wilson turned professional in 2003 and played on the Challenge Tour in 2004. County Meath (; gle, Contae na Mí or simply ) is a county in the Eastern and Midland Region of Ireland, within the province of Leinster.
