Damian Sexton
Damian Sexton (born 3 December 1968) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for St Kilda in the Australian Football League (AFL) in 1990. He was recruited from the Yarrawonga Football Club in the Ovens & Murray Football League (OMFL) with the 23rd selection in the 1990 Mid-year Draft. He is the cousin of Michael and Ben Sexton, who both also played in the AFL. His father, Gerry played for Footscray in the Victorian Football League. The almost 45-year gap between Gerry's last game and Damian's first game is the longest ever in the league for a father and son. After playing in the AFL, Sexton returned to country football where he played for Yarrawonga and Finley Football Clubs, and then moved into coaching. He captained and then coached the Murray Football League side in interleague competition and was the Victorian Country Under 18 coach in 2009. Finley Football Club
The Finley Football Club, nicknamed the ''Cats'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the town of Finley located in the Riverina district of New South Wales. The club's football and netball teams currently play in the playing in the Murray FNL, which Finley joined in 1933. History The club held an Annual General Meeting in 1895 and entered the Murray Border Football Association, then in 1899 joined the Federal District Football Association . Western Bulldogs
The Western Bulldogs are a professional Australian rules football team that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), the sport's premier competition. Founded in 1877 as the Footscray Football Club, and based in West Footscray in the old City of Footscray west of Melbourne, the club won nine premierships in the Victorian Football Association (VFA) before gaining admission to the Victorian Football League (which became the AFL in 1990) in 1925. Yarrawonga Football Club Players
Yarrawonga is a town in the Shire of Moira local government area in the Australian state of Victoria. The town is situated on the south bank of the Murray River, the border between Victoria and New South Wales, and is located approximately north-east of the state capital, Melbourne. Murray Football League
The Murray Football Netball League is an Australian rules football and netball league affiliated with the Victorian Country Football League. The league covers a large area of northern Victoria and southern New South Wales from Shepparton in the south to Deniliquin in the north. It covers much the same area as the Picola & District Football League but the teams tend to be the larger communities and towns. The Yarrawonga Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Pigeons'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the town of Yarrawonga, Victoria located on the Murray River. Michael Sexton (born 5 March 1971) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Carlton between 1990 and 2000 in the Australian Football League.
