Damian Kulig
Damian Kulig (born June 23, 1987) is a Polish professional basketball player for Stal Ostrów Wielkopolski of the Polish Basketball League (PLK). He represents the Polish national team internationally. Standing at , he plays at the power forward and center positions. Professional career On March 22, 2012, Kulig moved from Poznań to sign with the Polish team Turów Zgorzelec until the end of the 2011–12 season. In May 2012, the club extended contract with him for one more season. In the 2014–15 season, Kulig played in the EuroLeague for the first time in his career. Over 10 games, he led his team with 15.2 points, also having 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. However, Turów Zgorzelec was eliminated in the first phase of the competition, being last in the Group C with a 1–9 score. On April 29, 2015, Kulig won the PLK Most Valuable Player Award. Poland National Basketball Team
The Poland men's national basketball team ( pl, Reprezentacja Polski w koszykówce) represents Poland in international basketball competitions. They are controlled by the Polish Basketball Federation (PZKosz). Poland has competed at the EuroBasket on 28 occasions, with their best performance at the tournament coming in 1963, as hosts, finishing as runners-up. Poland has competed six times at the Olympic Games, with their best finish being fourth place at the first edition of the event in 1936. Poland have also made two appearances at the FIBA World Cup, with their first coming in 1967, and their second occurring 52 years later in 2019. The 2022 Suzuki Polish Basketball Cup ( pl, Puchar Polski 2021) was the 58th edition of Poland's national cup competition for men basketball teams. It is managed by the Polish Basketball League (PLK) and was held in Lublin, in the ''Globus''. Qualified teams The eight first qualified after the first half of the 2021–22 PLK season qualified to the tournament. EuroBasket 2015 was the 39th edition of the EuroBasket championship that was organized by FIBA Europe. It was co-hosted by Croatia, France, Germany, and Latvia, making it the first EuroBasket held in more than one country. It started on 5 September and ended on 20 September 2015. The top two teams ( and ) qualified to the 2016 Summer Olympics. The next five teams (, , , and the ) advanced to the World Olympic Qualifying Tournaments. and later qualified due to Serbia and Italy hosting two of the Olympic qualifying tournaments while also qualified as an invitee.
