Damal Kandalai Srinivasan
Damal Kandalai Srinivasan (born 1933) is an Indian social worker, business person, philanthropist and the co-founder of Hindu Mission Hospital, Chennai. He is also the secretary of ''Valluvar Gurukulam'', an educational institution founded in 1940 for the children of the refugees from Burma, which has since grown to the present-day ''Valluvar Gurukulam Higher Secondary School''. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2016, for his contributions to society. Biography D. K. An earthquake and a tsunami, known as the Boxing Day Tsunami and, by the scientific community, the Sumatra–Andaman earthquake, occurred at 07:58:53 local time (UTC+7) on 26 December 2004, with an epicentre off the west coast of northern Sumatra, Indonesia. It was an undersea megathrust earthquake that registered a magnitude of 9.1–9.3 , reaching a Mercalli intensity up to IX in certain areas. The earthquake was caused by a rupture along the fault between the Burma Plate and the Indian Plate. Cataract
A cataract is a cloudy area in the lens of the eye that leads to a decrease in vision. Cataracts often develop slowly and can affect one or both eyes. Symptoms may include faded colors, blurry or double vision, halos around light, trouble with bright lights, and trouble seeing at night.
