''Dallas'' is an American prime time television series, television soap opera developed by Cynthia Cidre and produced by Warner Bros. 1080i (also known as Full HD or BT.709) is a combination of frame resolution and scan type. 1080i is used in high-definition television (HDTV) and high-definition video. The number "1080" refers to the number of horizontal lines on the screen. The "i" is an abbreviation for "interlaced"; this indicates that only the even lines, then the odd lines of each frame (each image called a video field) are drawn alternately, so that only half the number of actual image frames are used to produce video. Larry Hagman
Larry Martin Hagman (September 21, 1931 – November 23, 2012) was an American film and television actor, director, and producer, best known for playing ruthless oil baron J. R. Ewing in the 1978–1991 primetime television soap opera, ''Dallas'', and the befuddled astronaut Major Anthony Nelson in the 1965–1970 sitcom '' I Dream of Jeannie''. Hagman had supporting roles in numerous films, including ''Fail-Safe'', ''Harry and Tonto'', '' S.O.B.'', ''Nixon'', and ''Primary Colors''. His television appearances also included guest roles on dozens of shows spanning from the late 1950s until his death, and a reprise of his signature role on the 2012 revival of ''Dallas''.
