Dalhousie is a small town in south-western Quebec near the border of Ontario, in the municipality of Saint-Télesphore, which is located within Vaudreuil-Soulanges Regional County Municipality, Quebec (Canada). It is named for George Ramsay, 9th Earl of Dalhousie, who served as Governor General of Canada from 1825 to 1828. Geographical location It lies 70 km to the west of Montreal, in a predominantly rural environment. There is also an extension of the settlement — known as Dalhousie Mills — which lies outside Quebec in South Glengarry Township, within Ontario's United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry. Dalhousie Station (french: Gare Dalhousie) is a former railway station in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Built in 1884, the building stands at the corner of Notre-Dame Street and Berri Street in what is now Old Montreal. The oldest surviving railway station building in Montreal, Dalhousie Station was named after George Ramsay, 9th Earl of Dalhousie, who was Governor General of Canada from 1825 to 1828. Although the terminal location was originally purchased by the Quebec, Montreal, Ottawa and Occidental Railway, all construction was done by the Canadian Pacific Railway after it purchased the QMO&O in 1882. Dalhousie Station (South Australia)
Dalhousie Station, most commonly known as Dalhousie Springs Station, was a pastoral lease that once operated as a cattle station in South Australia. Dalhousie and other surrounding leases were acquired by the Australian Government in 1985 to make up Witjira National Park. The property was situated approximately north of Oodnadatta and south east of Aputula. The ephemeral Finke River passes for a distance of through the property with several semi-permanent water holes, before petering out well short of Lake Eyre further to the south east. The lease was initially won by Edward Meade Bagot in 1873. Bagot was a surveyor who had won the contract to construct the section of the Overland Telegraph from Port Augusta to the Peak. Bagot and Smith put the property on the market in 1889. At this time the station was stocked with 5,000 head of cattle and 130 horses.
