Dale Whitnell
Dale Whitnell (born 9 August 1988) is an English professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. He won the 2023 Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed. Amateur career Whitnell had a successful amateur career and he won the 2006 Abu Dhabi Junior Golf Championship. In 2008, he won the St Andrews Trophy and played in the Eisenhower Trophy with Luke Goddard and Sam Hutsby. In 2009, he was tapped to play in the Walker Cup team. He was part of the English teams earning silver medals at the European Amateur Team Championship in 2008 and 2009. Whitnell was ranked Number One amateur in England in 2009 and won the English Golf Union Order of Merit convincingly. The Irish Open (currently known as the Horizon Irish Open for sponsorship reasons) () is a professional golf tournament on the European Tour. The Irish Open was first played in 1927 and was played annually, except for the war years, until 1950. There was a tournament in 1953, but the event was then not played again until revived in 1975. It has been contested annually since then. From 1963 to 1974 Carroll's sponsored a tournament, generally called the Carroll's International and in 1975 they became the sponsor of the Irish Open which became known as the Carroll's Irish Open. Michael (Mike) Lowe FREng is a British mechanical engineer. Since 2019, he has been the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London. He is a Professor in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), with particular interests in structure-guided ultrasound, wave theory, wave scattering, materials characterisation, and analytical and numerical modelling. Jonathan James Caldwell (born 10 June 1984) is a professional golfer from Clandeboye, Northern Ireland. Amateur career Caldwell attended the University of South Alabama from 2004 to 2008. He competed in the 2007 Walker Cup. Professional career Caldwell played on the 2009 European Tour, but did not perform well enough to retain his card. Laurence Richard Canter (born 3 November 1989) is an English professional golfer who currently plays on the European Tour and formerly played in the LIV Golf Invitational Series. Amateur career Canter had a successful year in 2010, winning the South African Amateur Championship and playing in the St Andrews Trophy and Eisenhower Trophy. He was also part of the England team that won the European Amateur Team Championship that year and he also qualified for the 2010 Open Championship. He won the 2011 Spanish Amateur Open Championship. The 2019 Challenge Tour was a series of professional golf tournaments collectively known as the Challenge Tour. The Challenge Tour is Europe's official developmental tour and is organised by the PGA European Tour. It was introduced in 1986 and was originally called the Satellite Tour, before being renamed with its present title in 1990. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 2019 season. Ladies European Tour
The Ladies European Tour is a professional golf tour for women which was founded in 1978. It is based at Buckinghamshire Golf Club near London in England. Like many UK-based sports organisations it is a company limited by guarantee, a legal structure which enables it to focus on maximising returns to its members through prize money, rather than on making profits for investors. The tour is run by a Board of Directors and a Players' Council. Most of the players on the tour are European, with members from more than 40 countries internationally.
