Dahme (river)
The Dahme is a river that flows through the German states of Brandenburg and Berlin. It is a left bank tributary of the River Spree and is approximately long. Course The source of the Dahme is near the eponymous town Dahme. The river flows north through the towns of Märkisch Buchholz and Prieros. At Märkisch Buchholz the river is joined by the Dahme Flood Relief Canal that diverts water from the upper reaches of the River Spree at Leibsch. At Prieros the Dahme is joined by two tributaries, the Storkower Gewässer on the right bank and the Teupitzer Gewässer on the left bank. Both of these tributaries comprise a chain of linked lakes. North of Prieros the Dahme flows through a number of lakes, including the Dolgenzee, Krüpelsee and Krimnicksee before reaching the city of Königs Wusterhausen. The fjord-like Zernsdorfer Lankensee joins the Krüpelsee as a right-bank tributary. A short section of the Dahme downstream of the Krimnicksee is also called ''Staabe''. At ... Märkisch Buchholz
Märkisch Buchholz is a small town in the Dahme-Spreewald district, in Brandenburg, Germany. It is situated on the river Dahme, 20 km northwest of Lübben (Spreewald) and resp. 50 km southeast of Berlin. Overview The town is the smallest one in Brandenburg with town status. Köpenick
Köpenick () is a historic town and locality (''Ortsteil'') in Berlin, situated at the confluence of the rivers Dahme and Spree in the south-east of the German capital. It was formerly known as Copanic and then Cöpenick, only officially adopting the current spelling in 1931. It is also known for the famous imposter '' Hauptmann von Köpenick''. Prior to its incorporation into Berlin in 1920, Köpenick had been an independent town. It then became a borough of Berlin, and with an area of , Berlin's largest. As a result of Berlin's 2001 administrative reform, the borough of Köpenick was merged with that of Treptow to create the current borough of Treptow-Köpenick. Schmöckwitz
Schmöckwitz () is a German locality (''Ortsteil'') within the Berlin borough (''Bezirk'') of Treptow-Köpenick. Until 2001 it was part of the former borough of Köpenick. History The locality was founded in 1375 with the name of Smekewitz. Langer See
The Langer See is a lake situated in the south-eastern outskirts of Berlin, the capital city of Germany. The lake is aligned south-east to north-west and forms part of the course of the River Dahme. The Langer See is approximately long, with an average width of and an area of . The Dahme flows into the Langer See from the Zeuthener See, at the south-east end of the lake by the Berlin suburb of Schmöckwitz. It flows out to the north-west near Köpenick and its confluence with the River Spree. At Schmöckwitz the Langer See also mingles with the Seddinsee. Like the River Dahme, the Langer See is navigable. Seddinsee
The Seddinsee is a lake in the south-eastern outskirts of Berlin, the capital city of Germany. The lake is aligned south-west to north-east, with its south-western end adjacent to the Berlin suburb of Schmöckwitz. Here the Seddinsee meets the Zeuthener See and Langer See, two lakes that form part of the course of the River Dahme. The Seddinsee is navigable. It has a length of about and a width between .
