Da Weasel
Da Weasel are a Portuguese hip hop/rock band from Almada (a suburb of Lisbon, Portugal), fronted by MCs Pacman (now known as Carlão) and Virgul. They are one of the oldest hip-hop projects in Portugal, having been formed in 1993 and terminated in 2010, and known for being a full session band, instead of relying on a DJ and samples. The band announced their reunion in 2019. Their music uses elements from hard rock, pop and ska. Career Da Weasel's first release was the EP ''More Than 30 Motherfuckers'', featuring only six songs, all in English. The group featured Pacman as the MC, Pedro Quaresma, Jay Jay Neige, Guilherme Silva and João Fagulha on live instruments, Yen Sung as backup vocalist and Armando Teixeira as DJ and producer. Almada
Almada () is a city and a municipality in Portugal, located on the southern margin of the Tagus River, on the opposite side of the river from Lisbon. The two cities are connected by the 25 de Abril Bridge. The population in 2011 was 174,030, in an area of 70.21 km2. The urbanized center had a population of 101,500 in 2001. Mario Caldato Jr. (born February 24, 1961), also known as Mario C., is a Brazilian-born record producer and studio engineer best known for his work with Beastie Boys, Jack Johnson in the US, Marcelo D2 and Seu Jorge in Brazil. Early life Caldato was born in Sao Paolo, Brazil. When he was two years old, his family moved to Los Angeles. Caldato began playing keyboards as a youth and took classical music lessons. Career In 1986, Caldato met DJ Matt Dike at Los Angeles nightclub Power Tools. At Dike's request, Caldato built a recording studio in Dike's apartment, where he engineered and co-produced Tone Loc and Young MC's hit singles and albums. NOS Alive
NOS Alive (formerly Optimus Alive! and Optimus Alive) is an annual music and arts festival held in the Algés riverside, close to Lisbon, in Portugal. It is organized since 2007 by the Portuguese live entertainment company Everything is New. Its naming sponsor is telecommunications company NOS (previously named Optimus). It takes place during the second week of July and lasts 3 or 4 days. It currently has six stages, including a stage dedicated to fado music and a stage dedicated to stand-up comedy. ''Gato Fedorento'' (; "Smelly Cat") is a Portuguese surreal comedy group, known for their subjective and absurd satire centering both on the Portuguese language and the Portuguese social reality. The group is composed of the four comedians José Diogo Quintela, Miguel Góis, Ricardo Araújo Pereira and Tiago Dores. Nigga
''Nigga'' () is a colloquial and vulgar term used in African-American Vernacular English that began as a dialect form of the word ''nigger'', an ethnic slur against black people. Orishas (band)
Orishas are a Cuban hip hop group from Havana, Cuba, founded in 1999. The group was first called ''"Amenaza"'', ''"threat"'' or ''"menace"'' in Spanish, and appealed to the Cuban youth. The choice of this name for the hip hop group is a way of creating a direct link between this band and the African diaspora. The group is based in France where they made a deal with a record company, although they visit Cuba frequently. In 1999 Fidel Castro threw a party for them and had a meeting with all the musicians.
