DJ Doc
DJ D.O.C. is a South Korean hip-hop trio consisting of members Kim Chang-yeol, Lee Ha-neul and Jung Jae-yong. DJ D.O.C. stands for Dream Of Children. DJ DOC released their first album, ''Sorrow of Superman'', in 1994. During a time when Korean hip hop was still largely underground, they went on to experience great commercial success and many of their singles, including "Dance with DOC" (1997) and "Run to You" (2000) are now considered well-known iconic K-pop songs. Initially an underground group, DJ DOC became known to mainstream audiences for the satirical content of their lyrics, which often criticized societal injustices and overtly used profanity. Korean Hip Hop
Korean hip hop, also known as K-hip hop or K-rap, is a subgenre of Korean popular music. It is widely considered to have originated in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and has since become increasingly popular, both in Korea and abroad. While Korea's hip hop culture includes various elements such as rap, graffiti, DJing, turntablism, and b-boying, rapping comprises a significant part of the culture. The term "hip hop" is largely recognized and understood as "rap" in Korea. EMI Records (formerly EMI Records Ltd.) is a multinational record label owned by Universal Music Group. The Golden Disc Awards (, formerly spelled the Golden Disk Awards before 2015) is an annual South Korean major music awards ceremony that honors achievements in the local music industry. The MAMA Award for Song of the Year () is an honor presented at the annual MAMA Awards, a South Korean awards ceremony presented by Mnet. Launched on October 30, 2007, it is based in Edgewater, New Jersey, and is owned and operated by its parent company 6Theory Media. ''Allkpop'' is one of the most trafficked K-pop news sites, with over seven and half million readers per month. In its list of useful websites, ''The Korea Herald'' called it the "fastest news breaker" for K-pop.
