DBZ (meteorology)
dBZ stands for '' decibel relative to Z''. It is a logarithmic dimensionless technical unit used in radar, mostly in weather radar, to compare the equivalent reflectivity factor (Z) of a remote object (in mm6 per m3) to the return of a droplet of rain with a diameter of 1 mm (1 mm6 per m3). It is proportional to the number of drops per unit volume and the sixth power of drops' diameter and is thus used to estimate the rain or snow intensity. With other variables analyzed from the radar returns it helps to determine the type of precipitation. Both the radar reflectivity factor and its logarithmic version are commonly referred to as ''reflectivity'' when the context is clear. In short, the higher the dBZ value, the more likely it is for severe weather to occur in the form of precipitation. Values above 20 dBZ usually indicate falling precipitation. DB(Z)
A-weighting is the most commonly used of a family of curves defined in the International standard IEC 61672:2003 and various national standards relating to the measurement of sound pressure level. A-weighting is applied to instrument-measured sound levels in an effort to account for the relative loudness perceived by the human ear, as the ear is less sensitive to low audio frequencies. It is employed by arithmetically adding a table of values, listed by octave or third-octave bands, to the measured sound pressure levels in dB. The resulting octave band measurements are usually added (logarithmic method) to provide a single A-weighted value describing the sound; the units are written as dB(A). Dean Zelinsky
Dean B. Zelinsky (born February 20, 1957), also known as Dean Z, Dean Barrett Zelinsky or DBZ, is an American guitar luthier who founded Dean Guitars in 1977 and DBZ Guitars in 2008 and today owns Dean Zelinsky Private Label started in 2012. Early years Dean Barrett Zelinsky was the second of three boys born to Robert and Sylvia Zelinsky in Chicago, IL. Robert was a successful executive and business owner, whose company designed and manufactured custom fasteners; some of which wound up in early United States space program rockets. Dean began tinkering with electronics early on in his childhood; he was taking radios apart to see what made them work & reassembling them at age eight. When Dean was 12 years old, his father died in a plane crash while piloting his own twin-engine plane. His widow raised three boys, Dean, Glenn, and Roger in the wake of this tragedy. Dragon Ball Z
''Dragon Ball Z'' is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation. Dolderbahn
The Dolderbahn (Db or DBZ) is a long rack railway in the Swiss city of Zürich. The line is in Zürich's Hottingen and Fluntern suburbs on the south slope of the Adlisberg mountain. The lower terminus of the line is at ''Römerhof'', some from the city centre, where it connects with lines 3 and 8 of the Zürich tramway. The upper terminus at ''Bergstation Dolderbahn'' is adjacent to the Dolder Grand Hotel and the Dolder recreation area. Two intermediate stations, at ''Titlisstrasse'' and ''Waldhaus Dolder'', are also served. The line is owned by the ''Dolderbahn-Betriebs AG'', which is itself 50% owned by the city of Zürich, and is operated on their behalf by the municipal transport operator ''Verkehrsbetriebe Zürich''.
