DBL Arena, Surabaya
The DBL Arena is an indoor sporting arena located in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. Located in the suburb of Surabaya, adjacent to the Graha Pena Building, it is renowned as one of the Indonesia's main venue for basketball matches. It is also home for the Development Basketball League, a basketball competition between junior and senior high schools formerly named DetEksi Basketball League (DBL). It is owned by Jawa Pos Group, and operated by DBL Indonesia. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. Palembang Sport and Convention Center or simply PSCC (formerly known as the Sport Hall) is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in the downtown of Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia, in one of the city's well-known business area, Centre Point. Established in 2011 for the 2011 Southeast Asian Games, it is praised for its modern and chic design, and its volleyball field is the best in the nation. History PSCC was built in 1971, and inaugurated by the President Soeharto. It was built for the National Scholar Games (or POMNAS in Indonesian) in the 80s. Later in October 2010, the government renovated the building massively for the 2011 Southeast Asian Games, as Palembang was chosen as the host city. The BritAma Arena ( Indonesian: ''Arena BritAma''), also known as Kelapa Gading Sports Mall or Mahaka Square, is an indoor sporting arena located in the affluent Kelapa Gading subdistrict in North Jakarta, Indonesia. The arena plays host to the basketball games of Indonesia's most successful club basketball team Satria Muda BritAma in the Indonesian Basketball League and ASEAN Basketball League (ABL), and also serves as the venue of some sporting and trade events in the North Jakarta area. Gelora Bung Karno Sports Palace ( id, Istana Olahraga Gelora Bung Karno, abbreviated as ''Istora''), the formerly name ''Istora Senayan'' is an indoor sporting arena located in Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex, Jakarta, Indonesia. The capacity of the arena after 2018 reopening is 7,166. This arena is usually used for badminton tournaments. Its maiden event was the 1961 Thomas Cup. It was also used during the 1962 Asian Games and was renovated to host the 2018 edition. Its first post-renovation event was the 2018 Indonesia Masters. During the latter Games, it hosted the badminton and later stages of basketball events. The arena originally was planned to stage the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup and becoming the only Indonesian venue in the three-country joint bid but was moved to a newly-built arena inside the complex. Mata Elang International Stadium
Mata Elang International Stadium also known as Beach City International Stadium is an indoor arena located at Ancol Dreamland, Jakarta, Indonesia. The venue opened in early 2012 and is located inside Ancol Beach City, a lifestyle and entertainment center. It is one of the biggest indoor arenas in Southeast Asia. Due to a conflict between Mata Elang management and Ancol Beach City management, MEIS was closed on 26 June 2014 until further announcement. Henry Yosodiningrat, one of the owners of the arena, said the venue's lease will end in March 2037. The venue did, however, reopen in fall 2022 with a new name: Beach City International stadium. Linda C Banowati, Operational Director of Mata Elang management, said they are in the process of building two new stadiums outside Ancol Beach City. One will be located in Jakarta, and one in Bali. Development Basketball League
Developmental Basketball League (DBL), previously named DetEksi Basketball League, is a basketball league for middle and high school students in Indonesia. History DBL began in Surabaya in 2004. The league originated by ''Jawa Pos'' newspaper as a simple high school league. The ''DetEksi'' term of its original name came from a former teenager section of the paper. A total of 96 teams joined in the first season, from cities throughout East Java. In 2007 more than 55,000 spectators watched games. This was a four-fold increase on 2004's figures, and a total of 220 teams competed. East Java DBL subsequently divided into two regions: North in Surabaya; and South in Malang. These included nine cities throughout nine provinces and five islands in Indonesia. DBL began to foster international collaborations.
