Déjà-Vu (Metrô Album)
''Déjà-Vu'' is the third and currently last studio album by Brazilian band Metrô, released in 2002 by independent label Trama. Their first album of new material in 15 years after they first broke up, it reunited them with former vocalist Virginie Boutaud, who had been fired from the band in 1986. Original guitarist Alec Haiat decided not to partake in the band's reunion though due to his involvement with other projects at the time and other personal reasons, and so was replaced by André Fonseca. Xavier Leblanc, who was also very busy with his then-newly founded French bistro, La Tartine, only acted as a session member on the tracks "Achei Bonito" and "Johnny Love", being subsequently replaced by Pedro Albuquerque until the band separated again in 2004. Metrô is a Brazilian band formed in 1978, then known as A Gota Suspensa before renaming themselves in 1984. Beginning as a progressive rock band, they later shifted to a more synth-pop-influenced direction, becoming one of the most successful groups in the then-thriving Brazilian rock/new wave scene. Jair Rodrigues
Jair Rodrigues de Oliveira (February 6, 1939 – May 8, 2014) was a Brazilian musician and singer. He is the father of Luciana Mello and Jair Oliveira, who also followed in his footsteps and became musicians. Biography Born in Igarapava, Rodrigues grew up in Nova Europa, a city in the interior of the state of São Paulo, where he lived until 1954. Thereafter he moved with his family to São Carlos, where he started his musical career, as the city had the best nightlife in the region. His career began when he crooned in São Carlos during the mid-to-late-1950s. He also participated in various functions with Radio São Carlos. In 1958, Jair joined the São Carlos military reserve. At the start of the 1960s, he gained popularity in the state capital as a singer on various television programs for new musical talent. Herbert Vianna
Herbert Lemos de Sousa Vianna (born May 4, 1961) is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, guitarist and record producer mainly known for his work with rock band Os Paralamas do Sucesso. Biography Herbert was born in João Pessoa, Paraíba. His father was from the military and, because of that, he moved to Brasília when he was still a child. There he met band member Bi Ribeiro. When they moved to Rio de Janeiro, they formed Os Paralamas do Sucesso (some still consider them part of the "Brasília gang", along with Capital Inicial and Legião Urbana) with their friend Vital Dias playing drums. Herbert's brother is the Brazilian anthropologist and cultural researcher Hermano Vianna. After Vital was replaced by João Barone, Herbert wrote the song "Vital e Sua Moto", to pay homage to his friend. Os Paralamas do Sucesso (also known simply as Paralamas) is a Brazilian rock band, formed in Seropédica, Rio de Janeiro, in the late 1970s. Its members since 1982 are Herbert Vianna (guitar and lead vocals), Bi Ribeiro (bass), and João Barone (drums). In its beginning, the band combined reggae and ska with rock, but later added horn arrangements and Latin rhythms. Beatriz Ferreira Lessa (born 10 June 1958), known as Bia Lessa, is a Brazilian filmmaker, theater director and former theater actress, and curator. Nélson Jacobina Rocha Pires (1953 – May 31, 2012) was a Brazilian lyricist, songwriter and guitarist, famous for his enduring partnership with fellow musician Jorge Mautner, with whom he wrote, among many other songs, the 1974 hit " Maracatu Atômico". Henrique George Mautner (born January 17, 1941), better known by his stage name Jorge Mautner, is a Brazilian singer-songwriter, lyricist, violinist, actor, screenwriter, film director and poet, considered to be a pioneer of the MPB scene and of the '' Tropicalista'' movement. Otto Maximiliano Pereira de Cordeiro Ferreira (born June 28, 1968), known Mononymous person, mononymously as Otto, is a Brazilian singer-songwriter, drummer, and television actor and presenter, famous for being one of the founding members of the pioneering Mangue Bit band Mundo Livre S/A, of which he served as its drummer from 1984 to 1996.
