Dário Furtado
Dário Osvaldo Dias Furtado (born 14 January 1979 in Praia), known simply as Dário, is a retired Cape Verdean footballer who played for Sporting Clube da Praia mainly as a left defender. He is currently manager of Sporting Praia's U-15 team. Biography Early life Dário Furtado was born in the capital city of Praia in the country's early years. Club career When he was a teenager, he started to play for the youth club of Sporting Praia. His first club of his profession career was Sporting Praia in 1999 and played for a season. Dário moved in 2000 to Portugal to play for Gil Vicente FC. He would, however, only appear in five top division games for the Barcelos club over the course of two seasons, also being loaned to A.D. 2013 Cape Verdean Football Championships
The 2013 Cape Verdean Football Championship season was the 34th of the competition of the first-tier football in Cape Verde. Its started on 11 May and finished on 13 July, slightly earlier than last year. The tournament was organized by the Cape Verdean Football Federation. CS Mindelense won the ninth title. They did not participate in the 2014 CAF Champions League. In 2014, Mindelense would become the second and most recent club to win both the cup and the super cup title in the same season. Overview Sporting Praia was the defending team of the title. A total of 12 clubs participated in the competition, one from each island league and one who won the last season's title. 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualification (CAF)
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) section of the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification saw teams compete for five berths in the final tournament in South Africa. The qualification stage doubled as the qualification stage for the 2010 African Cup of Nations, with fifteen teams qualifying for the finals held in Angola. In total, 53 nations participated; however, due to the presence of the two tournaments' respective hosts, 52 teams were involved in each competition. South Africa qualified automatically as host for the World Cup, and Angola qualified as host for the African Cup of Nations.
