Heracles
Heracles ( ; grc-gre, Ἡρακλῆς, , glory/fame of Hera), born Alcaeus (, ''Alkaios'') or Alcides (, ''Alkeidēs''), was a divine hero in Greek mythology, the son of Zeus and Alcmene, and the foster son of Amphitryon.By his adoptive descent through Amphitryon, Heracles receives the epithet Alcides, as "of the line of Alcaeus", father of Amphitryon. Amphitryon's own, mortal son was Iphicles. He was a great-grandson and half-brother (as they are both sired by the god Zeus) of Perseus, and similarly a half-brother of Dionysus. He was the greatest of the Greek heroes, the ancestor of royal clans who claimed to be Heracleidae (), and a champion of the Olympian order against chthonic monsters. In Rome and the modern West, he is known as Hercules, with whom the later Roman emperors, in particular Commodus and Maximian, often identified themselves. The Romans adopted the Greek version of his life and works essentially unchanged, but added anecdotal detail of their own, so ...

Dynastes Hercules
The Hercules beetle (''Dynastes hercules'') is a species of rhinoceros beetle native to the rainforests of Central America, South America, and the Lesser Antilles. It is the longest extant species of beetle in the world, and is also one of the largest flying insects in the world. Etymology ''Dynastes hercules'' is known for its tremendous strength and is named after Hercules, a hero of classical mythology who is famed for his great strength. Taxonomy ''D. hercules'' has a complex taxonomic history and has been known by several synonyms. It is in the subfamily Dynastinae (rhinoceros beetles) in the larger family Scarabaeidae (commonly known as scarab beetles). Not counting subspecies of ''D. hercules'', seven other species are recognized in the genus ''Dynastes''. Subspecies Several subspecies of ''D. hercules'' have been named, though still some uncertainty exists as to the validity of the named taxa.Huang, J., Knowles, L. The species versus subspecies conundrum: quantitative ...

Carl Johan Schönherr
Carl Johan Schönherr (10 June 1772 – 28 March 1848) was a Swedish entomologist who revised the taxonomy of beetles, including weevils. Born in Stockholm, Schönherr was son of a German immigrant who had established himself as a silk manufacturer. At the age of nineteen, he took over the business together with his mother and developed it into a considerable size, with about 200 workers. In 1805, he entered partnership with Erik Lundgren, and in 1811 he sold the business to him, while retiring to his manor Sparresäter in Lerdala outside Skara in Västergötland, where he died in 1848. Schönherr had taken an interest in entomology since the age of twelve and was later further stimulated through his friendship with Gustaf Johan Billberg, his brother-in-law from his second marriage.Bengt Ehnström, "Schönherr, Carl Johan", ''Svenskt biografiskt lexikon'', vol. 31, p. 755. He was an eminent coleopterist co-operating with Carl Henrik Boheman and Leonard Gyllenhaal. Schönherr w ...

In 1789 he undertook a study trip to Lappland, where he described several new species of insects. Starting from 1791, he was an employee of the Botanic Garden at the University of Uppsala. In 1797 he became a Doctor of Medicine and after 1798 he became Director of the Natural Cabinet ('' Naturkabinetts'') at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Stockholm. Sierra De Los Tuxtlas
The Sierra de Los Tuxtlas (Tuxtlas Mountains) are a volcanic belt and mountain range along the southeastern Veracruz Gulf coast in Eastern Mexico. The Los Tuxtlas Biosphere Reserve (Biósfera Los Tuxtlas) includes the coastal and higher elevations of the Sierra de Los Tuxtlas. The volcanic mountains were used as a basalt source by the Olmec culture during the Early Formative period (1500 BCE to about 400 BCE). Quarried basalt was transported by raft through a network of rivers, to sites in the Olmec heartland for use in creating monuments, including colossal heads. Geography Peaks in this range include Volcano Santa Marta and Volcano San Martín Tuxtla, both rising above 1,700 meters. San Martín Tuxtla is the only recently active volcano in the belt, erupting in 1664 and again in May 1793. It is a broad alkaline shield volcano with a one kilometer wide summit. Hundreds of smaller cinder cones are prevalent throughout the Sierra. Other, extinct volcanoes include San Martin P ...
