Dylan Steenbergen
Dylan Steenbergen (born July 24, 1987) is a former professional Canadian football offensive lineman who played for the Montreal Alouettes and Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was drafted by the Montreal Alouettes in the first round of the 2009 CFL Draft with the seventh overall pick. U Sports football is the highest level of amateur play of Canadian football and operates under the auspices of U Sports (formerly Canadian Interuniversity Sport). Twenty-seven teams from Canadian universities are divided into four athletic conferences, drawing from the four regional associations of U Sports: Canada West Universities Athletic Association, Ontario University Athletics, Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec, and Atlantic University Sport. 2009 CFL Draft
The 2009 CFL Draft took place on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 11:00 AM ET on TSN. 48 players were chosen from among 774 eligible players from Canadian universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA. In gridiron football, a lineman is a player who specializes in play at the line of scrimmage. The linemen of the team currently in possession of the ball are the offensive line, while linemen on the opposing team are the defensive line.
