Dwight Pattison
Dwight Pattison (died 16 June 2013) was an Indian bassist and guitarist born in Kolkata, Kolkata, India. Career Dwight Pattison played with High (musical group), High, the rock band in Kolkata fronted by Dilip Balakrishnan and Lew Hilt, where he began song writing. Pattison toured with various bands and musicians, such as Moheener Ghoraguli, Adnan Sami, Lesle Lewis (composer), Lesle Lewis, Gary Lawyer and Krosswindz, with whom he co-created the Bengali-language album "Poth Geche Benke". He was known for his musical timing and talent on various instruments, particularly on the bass and acoustic guitar. He died on 16 June 2013 in Sikkim, Sikkim, India of a heart attack. Krosswindz (Bengali: ক্রসউইন্ডস) is a Bengali rock/folk-fusion band, based in Kolkata, India. They have played all over India and abroad and have helped urbanize the folk music of Bengal and have tried to make it popular. Adnan Sami
Adnan Sami Khan (born 15 August 1971) is an Indian singer, musician, music composer and pianist. He performs Indian and Western music, including for Hindi, Kannada, Telugu and Tamil movies. He has been awarded with Padma Shri (India's fourth highest civilian award) for his remarkable contribution in music. His most notable instrument is the piano. He has been credited as "the first musician to have played the santoor and Indian classical music on the piano". Moheener Ghoraguli
Moheener Ghoraguli (, literally "Moheen's horses") was an Indian rock group from Kolkata, established in 1975. Their music drew from wide variety of influences, including Bengali folk, Baul, urban American folk, and jazz. They sometimes described their style as "Baul jazz." Established in the 1970s during a period of stagnation in Bengali music, when commercial film songs were the dominant market force, the lyrics and music (and to some extent the compositions) of Moheener Ghoraguli with its leader Gautam Chattopadhyay were radically new. They were of a very personal or social nature, similar to the urban folk movement led by Bob Dylan in the 60s. High (musical Group)
High was an Indian rock group from Kolkata, established in 1974. It was the pioneer of Indian rock bands. It played in the 1970s and 1980s, disbanding in 1990. Although their music was heavily influenced by British and American rock acts like the Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers' Band, Pink Floyd and Traffic, it was in terms of their original compositions that the band gained a huge cult following.
