Dwight Davis (basketball)
Dwight E. Davis (born October 11, 1949) is a retired American professional basketball player. After playing college basketball at the University of Houston from 1969–72, Davis was selected as the 3rd overall pick of 1972 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Nicknamed "Double D", Davis played for five seasons in the NBA. College career Graduating from Worthing High School in Houston, Texas, Davis enrolled at Houston, recruited by Hall of Fame Coach Guy Lewis. As a sophomore in 1969–1970, Davis averaged 19.9 points and 10.3 rebounds as Houston finished 25–5 and advanced to the 1970 NCAA University Division basketball tournament. Davis averaged 20.1 points, 12.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists as the 1970–1971 Cougars were 22–7. Guy Lewis
Guy Vernon Lewis II (March 19, 1922 – November 26, 2015) was an American basketball player and coach. He served as the head men's basketball coach at the University of Houston from 1956 to 1986. Lewis led his Houston Cougars to five appearances in the Final Four of the NCAA tournament, in 1967, 1968, 1982, 1983, and 1984. His 1980s teams, nicknamed Phi Slama Jama for their slam dunks, were runners-up for the national championship in back-to-back seasons in 1983 and 1984. John Lynch (New Hampshire Governor)
John Hayden Lynch (born November 25, 1952) is an American attorney, businessman, and politician who served as the 80th governor of New Hampshire from 2005 to 2013. John Edward Lambert (born January 14, 1953) is an American former professional basketball player born in Berkeley, California. In high school at Berkeley, he played basketball and was a member of The State Champs Berkeley High Yellowjackets, which included Glenn Burke, a professional baseball player. In 2007 he was inducted into the school's new Athletic Hall of Fame. A 6'10" center from the University of Southern California, Lambert played in the National Basketball Association from 1975 to 1982. Alfred "Butch" Beard Jr. (born May 5, 1947) is an American former professional basketball player and coach. He was the starting point guard with the 1975 NBA champion Golden State Warriors. Career Early years Beard played high school basketball at Breckinridge County High School where, as a junior, he led the Bearcats to the 1964 state championship game losing to a Wes Unseld-led Louisville Seneca team. James E. Price (born November 27, 1949) is an American former professional basketball player and coach. He played college basketball for the Louisville Cardinals and was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the 1972 NBA draft. Lloyd Neal (born December 10, 1950) is an American former professional basketball player born in Talbotton, Georgia. A 6'7" center/forward from Tennessee State University, Neal spent his entire professional career (1972–1979) with the National Basketball Association's Portland Trail Blazers. Robert Allen McAdoo Jr. ( ; born September 25, 1951) is an American former professional basketball player and coach. He played 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA), where he was a five-time NBA All-Star and named the NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 1975.
