Dutch National Youth Council
The Dutch National Youth Council, abbreviated to DNYC, is an umbrella organization of Dutch national youth organizations for young people between the ages of 12 and 30. DNYC aims to encourage and support youth participation at all levels of society; ensure that young people know, develop and use their strengths for a better future for themselves and others. DNYC encourages young people to show what they are capable of, from their communities to the United Nations. In addition, the DNYC advises Dutch government bodies and other organizations on youth policy and stimulating youth participation. The organization consists of a 7-member board and a work organization consisting of more than 40 employees and trainees. History The DNYC was founded in June 2001. The European Youth Forum (from french: Youth Forum Jeunesse, YFJ) is an international non-profit association and serves as a platform and advocacy group of the national youth councils and international non-governmental youth organisations in Europe. It strives for youth rights in international institutions such as the European Union, the Council of Europe, and the United Nations. The European Youth Forum works in the fields of youth policy and youth work development. Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands (née Petra Laurentien Brinkhorst; born 25 May 1966) is the wife of Prince Constantijn and sister-in-law of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima. Mariëtte Iris Hamer (born 7 June 1958) is a Dutch politician and trade union leader serving as commissioner for combating inappropriate behavior and sexual violence since 2022. Kim Putters (; born 22 September 1973) is a Dutch public administrator, former politician and administrator. From 2003 to 15 June 2013 he was a Member of the Dutch Senate for the Labour Party. Elisabeth Marij (Lisa) Westerveld (born 16 November 1981) is a Dutch politician serving as a member of GroenLinks in the House of Representatives of the Netherlands since 2017.
