The Dutch National Students Association ( nl, Interstedelijk Studenten Overleg, ISO; lit. "Intercity Student Consultation") is one of two national representation and spokesman of students in the Netherlands at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, VSNU (Association of Universities in the Netherlands), Association of Higher Professional Education, DUO, etc. The purpose of ISO is to improve the quality of higher education, protection of students' interests and representation of 688.000 students in higher education. ISO is a full member of the European Students' Union. Vereniging Van Universiteiten
The Universiteiten van Nederland (UNL) is, since November 2021, the new name of the Vereniging van Universiteiten (VSNU; English: Association of Universities in the Netherlands). The UNL is a trade group of ten government-funded universities, three special universities, and the Open University of the Netherlands. It formed as the Vereniging van Samenwerkende Nederlandse Universiteiten in 1985, as a successor to the (est. 1956). Organization The UNL acts as a consultative body for its members. It is also the mouthpiece for universities in the national media. Hogeschool Van Amsterdam
The Hogeschool van Amsterdam, University of Applied Sciences (HvA), or Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS), is a large institute for higher professional education in the Netherlands, established in 1993. The HvA mainly offers bachelor's degree programmes, but also has a number of (professional) master's degree programmes. For students from the HvA's international partner institutes it is possible to study at the HvA as an exchange student. The HvA offers eighty courses of study, spread across locations in Amsterdam. Windesheim, Netherlands
Windesheim is a village in the municipality of Zwolle in the province of Overijssel, Netherlands. The Congregation of Windesheim was located in Windesheim from 1387 until 1577. History The village was first mentioned in 1028 as Wendesheim, and means "settlement of Winid (person)". Windesheim is an ''esdorp'' which developed in the Late Middle Ages along the road from Zwolle to Deventer. In 1387, a monastery by the Brethren of the Common Life was established in the village. The first Dutch translation of the New Testament was made in Windesheim in 1390. The Congregation of Windesheim started to establish sister monasteries, and by 1511 was in charge of 97 monasteries throughout the Holy Roman Empire. During the Reformation, many were demolished or closed down. Around 1570, the monastery in Windesheim was destroyed by the Geuzen.
