Dutch Mexicans
Dutch Mexicans ( es, Neerlandeses-mexicanos; nl, Nederlandse Mexicanen) are Mexican citizens of Dutch descent. The concept and the numbers Mexican citizens of Dutch descent who identify themselves as such would be considered Dutch Mexicans. It is not a category that INEGI measures in its Population Census so the number is unknown. The concept is related to two other, partially overlapping, concepts namely Dutch immigrants to Mexico and residents of Mexico born in the Netherlands. The number of Dutch immigrants to Mexico is measured through immigration statistics and totalled 1,509 living persons in 2009. The Population Census asks for the place of birth of a person. In 2020 there were 1,221 residents of Mexico who were born in the Netherlands. History People from what is now the Netherlands emigrated to Mexico as early as the 16th century. Gerald Hylkema
"Gerald" Hylkema (February 14, 1946 – March 26, 2002) was a Dutch professional football forward who played three games in the North American Soccer League and several seasons in the American Soccer League. Hylkema began his athletic career in field hockey. In 1968, he was part of the Dutch field hockey team at the 1968 Summer Olympics. In 1970, he turned to professional soccer when he signed with FC Groningen but he spent his first season with the reserves. In 1971, Hylkema gained promotion to the first team where he saw limited time over two seasons. He then played for Atlante F.C. in Mexico. Plutarco Elías Calles
Plutarco Elías Calles (25 September 1877 – 19 October 1945) was a general in the Mexican Revolution and a Sonoran politician, serving as President of Mexico from 1924 to 1928. The 1924 Calles presidential campaign was the first populist presidential campaign in Mexico's history, as he called for land redistribution and promised equal justice, expanded education, further labor rights, and democratic governance. After Calles' populist phase (1924–1926) he was committed to separating church from state (1926–1928), passing several anticlerical laws that resulted in the Cristero War. Calles is most noted for his founding of the Institutional Revolutionary Party in 1929, which ensured political stability in the wake of the assassination of president-elect Alvaro Obregón in 1928. Mennonites
Mennonites are groups of Anabaptist Christian church communities of denominations. The name is derived from the founder of the movement, Menno Simons (1496–1561) of Friesland. Ariadne Welter (June 29, 1930 – December 13, 1998) was a Mexican movie actress of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. She appeared in the Luis Buñuel film ''The Criminal Life of Archibaldo de la Cruz'' (1955). In 1956 she starred in the film ''El Vampiro'', a classic among Mexican horror films. Mexican Eagle Petroleum Company
Compañía Mexicana de Petróleo El Águila SA, (''El Águila'' for short, called in English the Mexican Eagle Oil Company or Mexican Eagle Petroleum Corporation, was a Mexican oil company in the 20th century.
