The Dutch Furniture Awards is a former annual furniture design competition in the Netherlands, organized from 1985 to 1998.Meubelprijzen 1998 op ''archined.nl.''1998/09. Jaarbeurs
The Jaarbeurs (; Dutch for 'Yearly Fair') is an exhibition and convention centre in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Noted events include the former Space '86, the Hobby Computer Club Days (''HCC Dagen''), and the Mega Record & CD Fair. The venue is also a regular base for music festivals like ASOT festival and Thunderdome. The Jaarbeurs extends to an area of 100.000 m² next to Utrecht Centraal railway station. Piet Hein Eek
Piet Hein Eek is a Dutch designer. He is known for designs which require significant time from craftspeople, despite using very inexpensive, found materials. Dutch Design is a term used to denote an informal artistic school of design in the Netherlands, particularly product design. More specifically, the term refers to the design esthetic common to designers in the Netherlands. History The Netherlands were primarily known for graphic design until the 1980s, when the term Dutch Design started to come into popular use. The term came to be closely identified with a group of Dutch product designers who have gained international recognition particularly from the 1990s onwards. Rotterdam Design Award
The Rotterdam Design Award (Rotterdamse Designprijs) was an annual and later biennial design award in the Netherlands from 1993 to 2013. In the first five editions the work of the nominees were exhibited in the Kunsthal, and afterwards in Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. The winners were selected by an international jury during this exhibition, and were announced at the end of the exhibition. The winners received an amount of € 20,000, which could be spent freely. Dutch Design Week
Dutch Design Week (also known as DDW) is the largest annual design event in Northern Europe. It presents work and concepts from more than 2,600 designers to more than 355,000 visitors from home and abroad. Hosted in Eindhoven, Netherlands, the event is about Dutch design. The event takes place around the last week of October and is a nine-day event with exhibitions, studio visits, workshops, seminars, and parties at many venues dispersed throughout the city. Dutch Design Awards
Dutch Design Awards (DDA) honours the best Dutch designs across eight categories. Richard Hutten
Richard G. J. Hutten (born 30 March 1967, in Zwollerkerspel) is a Dutch industrial designer, art director, and artist who is active in furniture design, product design, interior design, and exhibition design. Biography Hutten graduating from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 1991 and started his own design studio in Rotterdam after the same year. Hutten has been involved with Droog Design (Dry design) since its inception in 1993 and has been a prominent exponent ever since. Hutten is known for what he refers to as "No sign of design" furniture: functional furniture in a conceptual and humorous style. Hutten's "Table upon table" concept an example of this style. He designed the seating for Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam using circular economy principles, so that all materials are either recycled, recyclable or biodegradable.
