''Dusty – The Dusty Springfield Musical'' is a jukebox musical by Jonathan Harvey based on the life and music of singer Dusty Springfield, featuring songs sung by Springfield. Production The musical made its world premiere at the Theatre Royal, Bath from 23 June to 7 July 2018, before touring to Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield (10 to 14 July), Theatre Royal, Newcastle (17 to 21 July) and The Lowry, Salford (24 to 28 July). The production was directed by Maria Friedman and starring Katherine Kingsley in the title role. Jonathan Harvey (playwright)
Jonathan Paul Harvey (born 13 June 1968) is an English screenwriter, actor, playwright and author. Early life Harvey was born in Liverpool, Lancashire in 1968 to Maureen and Brian Harvey. He has a brother, Timothy, who is a music teacher in Chester. Career A former secondary school English teacher, his first serious attempt as a playwright was in 1987. He entered a competition, with a first prize of £1,000, for young writers at the Liverpool Playhouse, with his play ''The Cherry Blossom Tree'', a blend of suicide, murder and nuns. He won National Girobank Young Writer of the Year Award for ''The Cherry Blossom Tree''. Encouraged by this success he wrote ''Mohair'' (1988), ''Wildfire'' (1992) and ''Babies'' (1993), the latter won the ' George Devine Award' for 1993 and The Evening Standard's 'Most Promising Playwright Award' for 1994. Rufus Hound
Rufus Hound (born Robert James Blair Simpson 6 March 1979) is an English actor, comedian and presenter. Early life Hound was born on 6 March 1979 in Essex and moved to Surrey at the age of 7. He was educated at Hoe Bridge School Woking, Frensham Heights and Godalming College, where he was elected as a Student Representative and built the college radio station. After leaving school he began working for a PR agency but started performing comedy in the evenings. In 2000, he left his job as an account executive for Claire's Accessories to begin working full-time as a stand-up comedian.
