''Dusk... and Her Embrace'' is the second studio album by English extreme metal band Cradle of Filth. It was released on August 28, 1996. and is their first release on the label Music for Nations. Background Much of the material for the album was written while the band were still under Cacophonous Records' contract. Speaking to Ryan Bird of ''Kerrang!'' in 2008, Dani Filth remembered: Filth later told ''Kerrang!'' that the tone and content of the record was also partly the result of Cradle's isolation from the European black metal scene: The album climaxes with a guest speech from Venom's Cronos on the final track, "Haunted Shores". Release ''Dusk and Her Embrace'' was released on 28 August 1996 by record label Music for Nations. It charted just outside of the UK top 100, at 107. Cradle Of Filth
Cradle of Filth are an English extreme metal band formed in Suffolk in 1991. The band's musical style evolved originally from black metal to a cleaner and more "produced" amalgam of gothic metal, symphonic metal and other metal genres. Their lyrical themes and imagery are heavily influenced by Gothic literature, poetry, mythology and horror films. Sarah Jezebel Deva
Sarah Jane (born 25 February 1977), better known by her stage name Sarah Jezebel Deva, is an English singer. She was the female soprano vocalist for Cradle of Filth for 14 years and the frontwoman of the band Angtoria for 10 years. In 2009, Deva started her self-titled solo project, releasing two studio albums and one EP from 2010 to 2012, and in 2020 announced she would be working with former Angtoria bandmate Chris Rehn on a new project entitled Torn Between Two Worlds. Early life Deva was raised in East Ham, London and has two half sisters and three half brothers. She had a troubled and turbulent childhood, leaving home when she was nine years old. Nicholas Barker
Nicholas Howard Barker (born 1973) is an English extreme metal drummer best known as for his work in Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir. Currently he is the drummer for Brujeria and Shining. Biography Barker was born on 25 April 1973. He joined Cradle of Filth as their original drummer, playing on the first four albums. After leaving in 1999, he joined Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir. After being removed from the line-up, Barker went on to play with Brujeria, Old Man's Child, Lock Up, Gaahl and King ov Hell, Ancient, Atrocity, Leaves' Eyes. Damien Gregori
Damien Gregori (also Greg Moffitt) is an Irish musician. Cradle of Filth Damien was keyboard player with UK band Cradle of Filth from 1995 to 1997, and appeared on two of the band's albums, '' V Empire or Dark Faerytales in Phallustein'' and '' Dusk and Her Embrace''. He left the band in mid-1997. On the '' Lovecraft & Witch Hearts'' compilation CD, he wrote the band's biography in the booklet. The name 'Damien Gregori' was taken from a Cradle of Filth press release. Throughout his time with the band, Greg was only ever known as 'Damien'. Robin Mark Eaglestone (born 1976) is a British musician. Biography He was the bassist for the Heavy metal music, metal band Cradle of Filth. Also known as Robin Graves, he joined Cradle of Filth in 1992 as 2nd guitarist for the recording of the ''Invoking the Unclean'' demo then later changed to bass for the ''Total Fucking Darkness'' demo. Conrad Thomas Lant (born 15 January 1963), also known by his stage name Cronos, is an English musician. He is the founder, vocalist, bassist, and occasional guitarist of heavy metal band Venom. Biography Early life After playing in a couple of high school bands; Dwarfstar and Album Graecum, Conrad Lant took the stage name Cronos and joined a band called Guillotine as a guitarist in 1979, where he met Jeffrey Dunn, who later became Mantas. In 1979, the original bassist left one week before a church hall gig. Instead of not playing the venue, Cronos took up the bass and they changed the band name to 'Venom'.
