Dushmani (region)
The clan of Dushmani was one of the northern Albanian tribes, living in North Albania up to 20th century. Edith Durham, the person who visited them in the beginning of 20th century described them as one of the most wilder tribes among Albanians. Origins The term Dushmani may have been recorded in the sixth century by the early Byzantine geographer and scholar Procopius of Caesarea (ca. 500– ca. 565) as Dousmanes who uses this name to refer to a Thracian- Illyrian castle restored by the Emperor Justinian. It occurs with more certainty a millennium later in an Ottoman document as Düşman in 1581, and as Dusimani on the maps of the Venetian cartographer Francesco Maria Coronelli in 1688 and 1691. One is reminded of the Ottoman Turkish (originally ''Persian'') oriental term dushman ‘enemy, foe’, but there does not seem to be any etymological relationship to the word here. Dushmani Family
The Dushmani or Dusmani were an Albanian family that ruled parts of Pilot, a historical province within the territory of the eponymous Dushmani tribe from the Dukagjin highlands in northern Albania, during 15th century rule under the Republic of Venice. The name of the Dushmani family and the tribe from which they came is probably the oldest name of an Albanian tribe to be attested historically. Rendered in the form ''Dousmanes'' by Procopius, it was the name of one of the Illyrian-Thracian forts rebuilt by Justinian in the 6th century AD. Its similarity to the name ''Dussus'' may suggest that it was formed like many other names found among Albanians as a composition of two names, Dush (Dussus) and Mani. An ultimate link to Turkish düşman which made its way into Balkan languages after the Middle Ages is not plausible. Mithun Chakraborty (born Gouranga Chakraborty; 16 June 1950) is an Indian actor, producer and politician who predominantly worked in Hindi and Bengali language films. He is a former Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament. He is the recipient of three National Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards for his acting performance. Chakraborty made his acting debut with the art house drama ''Mrigayaa'' (1976), for which he won his first National Film Award for Best Actor. Chakraborty played Jimmy in the 1982 film ''Disco Dancer'', which was commercially successful in India and the Soviet Union, the first film in India to gross Rs.100 crore.
