Dursun Karataş (25 March 1952 — 11 August 2008) was a Turkish communist of Kurdish descent. He commanded the revolutionary left and DHKP-C. DHKP-C is seen as a "terrorist organization" in Turkey, the EU and the USA. The revolutionary left was closed in the 90s due to lack of personnel. Ahmet Dursun (born 25 January 1978) is a Turkish former professional footballer. Career Dursun started his career in Germany when he signed for SG Wattenscheid 09. In 1996, he was transferred to the Turkish club Kocaelispor and he was selected for the Turkey national under-21 football team. In the 1999–2000 season, he was signed by Istanbul club Beşiktaş J.K. and he scored 21 goals in his first season. Turan Dursun (1934 – 4 September 1990) was a Turkish author and atheist who was a critic of Islam. A former Muslim cleric and scholar of Shia Islam, he became an atheist during his study of the history of monotheistic religions. Influenced by the 9th-century Iranian skeptic philosopher Ibn al-Rawandi, Dursun wrote a number of books about religion which included interpretations of Islamic texts, heavily criticizing Islam and the founders of its major branches.
