Durand Close
Durand Close was a housing estate situated at in Carshalton, Greater London. It held over 300 homes when it was built in the 1960s. In 2009, the estate was demolished to make way for an £83m redevelopment by Rydon Construction Ltd. The River Wandle The River Wandle is a right-bank tributary of the River Thames in south London, England. With a total length of about , the river passes through the London boroughs of London Borough of Croydon, Croydon, London Borough of Sutton, Sutton, Londo ... passes through the estate from Culvers Avenue, with another opening at Buckhurst Avenue and also exits at Buckhurst Avenue. Carshalton
Carshalton ( ) is a town, with a historic village centre, in south London, England, within the London Borough of Sutton. It is situated around southwest of Charing Cross and around east by north of Sutton town centre, in the valley of the River Wandle, one of the sources of which is Carshalton Ponds in the south of the village. Prior to the creation of Greater London in 1965, Carshalton was in the Administrative counties of England, administrative county of Surrey. Carshalton consists of a number of neighbourhoods. The main focal point, Carshalton Village, is visually scenic and picturesque. At its centre it has two adjoining ponds, which are overlooked by the Grade II listed All Saints Church on the south side and the Victorian Grove Park (Sutton), Grove Park on the north side. Rydon
Rydon is a British facilities management and property maintenance company which was founded in 1978. Its head office is in Dartford, Kent, and it has two maintenance offices in London. It employed an average of 423 people in the year to September 2022, and in the year to 30 September 2024 reported a pre-tax loss of £1.0m on turnover of £61.0m, its fifth successive loss. Until 2021, Rydon was also a building contractor and employed over 650 people. River Wandle
The River Wandle is a right-bank tributary of the River Thames in south London, England. With a total length of about , the river passes through the London boroughs of London Borough of Croydon, Croydon, London Borough of Sutton, Sutton, London Borough of Merton, Merton and London Borough of Wandsworth, Wandsworth, where it reaches the Thames.
