Dunstan Endawie Enchana
Datuk Amar Dunstan Endawie Enchana (25 July 1937 – 11 April 2014) was a Malaysian politician from Sarawak, former teacher and a member of the Iban people. He served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Sarawak from 1977 until 1979. Endawie also served as a member of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly for the Krian constituency and the President of the now defunct Sarawak National Party (SNAP) during his political career. He was also a member of the several Sarawak state cabinets, including a tenure as state minister for Local Government. Political career Endawie began his career in Sarawak politics during the British colonial era. In 1963, he became a state cabinet minister under the first Chief Minister of Sarawak, Stephen Kalong Ningkan. The Malay language has a complex system of styles, titles and honorifics which are used extensively in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the southern Philippines. Iban People
The Ibans or Sea Dayaks are a branch of the Dayak peoples on the island of Borneo in South East Asia. Dayak is a title given by the westerners to the local people of Borneo island. It is believed that the term "Iban" was originally an exonym used by the Kayans, who – when they initially came into contact with them – referred to the Sea Dayaks in the upper Rajang river region as the "Hivan". Ibans were renowned for practicing headhunting and territorial migration, and had a fearsome reputation as a strong and successfully warring tribe. Since the arrival for Europeans and the subsequent colonisation of the area, headhunting gradually faded out of practice, although many other tribal customs and practices as well as the Iban language continue to thrive. Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mu’azzam Shah ( Jawi: ; 24 October 1930 – 22 May 2019) was the fifth modern Sultan of Pahang, and also served as the seventh Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia from 26 April 1979 to 25 April 1984. His abdication as Sultan was decided by the Royal Council at an extraordinary meeting on 11 January 2019. A special amendment was passed on the state constitution that gave the body more power for this decision, citing the Sultan's incapability to rule due to his failing health.
