Dunoon, Cape Town
Dunoon is a sprawling township in the Western Cape province of South Africa. The first erf for Dunoon was surveyed in 1996. As formal housing was built, shacks developed rapidly. Dunoon is near the Killarney Motor Racing Complex. The township's neighbouring counterpart is Joe Slovo Park. Dunoon has no police stations; the nearest one is in Table View. In 2011, the population of Dunoon was 31,133 and the number of households was 11,496. The main form of transport for Dunoon residents is the minibus taxi; the MyCiTi bus service opened a bus station to serve Dunoon on 1 March 2014. On the opposite side of Potsdam Road from Dunoon is an informal settlement called Site 5, which consists of a group of shacks. Milnerton is a seaside town on Table Bay and is located north of Cape Town in South Africa. It is located 11 kilometres to the north of the city's centre. Geography Milnerton lies on the Western Seaboard of Cape Town, also known as the Blaauwberg Coast, just north of the city along Table Bay. Although Milnerton is a town in its own right, it still regarded as a suburb of Cape Town. The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) comprises the armed forces of South Africa. The Chief of the SANDF is appointed by the President of South Africa from one of the armed services. MyCiti is a bus rapid transit service in Cape Town, South Africa. Operating with feeders, it forms part of a greater Integrated Public Transport driven economic development strategy of the City of Cape Town (CoCT) Metropolitan Municipality in the Western Cape province. The service is actively being rolled out across Cape Town, and currently provides public transport in about 10% of the city. MyCiTi commenced in 2010 with Phase 1, which features buses running north to south, along Cape Town's western coastline. In November 2015 approximately 60,000 daily passenger journeys were made on the MyCiTi service, on 36 routes, using 42 bus stations and more than 600 bus stops, in about 223 peak buses.
