English is a West Germanic language of the Indo-European language family, with its earliest forms spoken by the inhabitants of early medieval England. Harriet Ball Dunlap
Harriet Ball Dunlap (, Ball; after first marriage, Williams; after second marriage, Dunlap; June 1, 1867 – December 15, 1957) was an American temperance leader associated with Western Washington. Biography Harriet Elizabeth Ball was born at Harrison, Ohio, June 1, 1867. Her parents were Richard Henry Ball (1844-1934) and Amanda Virginia (Horney) Ball (1847-1934). Harriet had five younger siblings: Rebecca, Samuel, Ruth, Mary, and Richard. The family removed to La Conner, Skagit County, Washington in 1876. She was educated in the public schools of the Washington Territory. In 1887, she married A. C. Williams. In 1895, she married Samuel Dunlap, of Mount Vernon, Skagit County, Washington. Early on, she took a position among the pioneer teachers in Western Washington. There, too, she began working for the temperance cause, having been a member of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union (W. C. T. U.) from her childhood. William Dunlap
William Dunlap (February 19, 1766 – September 28, 1839) was a pioneer of American theater. He was a producer, playwright, and actor, as well as a historian. He managed two of New York City's earliest and most prominent theaters, the John Street Theatre (from 1796–98) and the Park Theatre (from 1798–1805). He was also an artist, despite losing an eye in childhood. He was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, the son of an army officer wounded at the Battle of Quebec in 1759. In 1783, he painted a portrait of George Washington, while staying at Rockingham in Rocky Hill. The painting is now owned by the United States Senate. He later studied art under Benjamin West in London. Another teacher was Abraham Delanoy, with whom he had a handful of lessons in New York. King David Dunlap V (born September 14, 1985) is a former American football offensive tackle who played in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Auburn, and was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He also played for the San Diego Chargers. Early years Dunlap played high school football and basketball at Brentwood Academy near Nashville, Tennessee. College career Dunlap played college football at Auburn University. Dunlap started in place of starting left tackle Marcus McNeill in a game against Ball State in 2005 after McNeill suffered an injury. (born John Richbourg, August 20, 1910 - February 15, 1986) was an American radio disc jockey who attained fame in the 1950s and 1960s for playing rhythm and blues music on Nashville radio station WLAC. He was also a notable record producer and artist manager. Richbourg was arguably the most popular and charismatic of the four announcers at WLAC who showcased popular African-American music in nightly programs from the late 1940s to the early 1970s. (The other three were Gene Nobles, Herman Grizzard, and Bill "Hoss" Allen.) John Dunlap (1747 – 27 November 1812) was an early American printer who emigrated from Ireland and who printed the first copies of the United States Declaration of Independence and was one of the most successful Irish/American printers of his era. He served in the Continental Army under George Washington during the American Revolutionary War. Biography Dunlap was born in Strabane, County Tyrone, Ireland in 1747. When he was ten years old, he went to work as an apprentice to his uncle, William Dunlap, a printer and bookseller in Philadelphia. Frederick C. "Sure Shot" Dunlap (May 21, 1859 – December 1, 1902) was a second baseman and manager in Major League Baseball from 1880 to 1891. He was the highest paid player in Major League Baseball from 1884 to 1889. He has also been rated by some contemporary and modern sources as the greatest overall second baseman of the 19th century. He earned the nickname "Sure Shot" for the strength and accuracy of his throws to first base, and was also sometimes referred to in the 1880s as the "King of Second Basemen." Dunlap played for the Cleveland Blues from 1880 to 1883, where he secured his reputation as one of the best players in the game.
