Dunkirk Football Club is a football club based in the Dunkirk area of Nottingham, England. The club plays in the . History Dunkirk FC were founded in 1946 and their nickname is "The Boatmen". The first league they joined was the Notts Amateur League, of which they were members until 1975. They won the Premier Division in that season, the club's first major honour. Accepted into the Notts Alliance League, they got off to a good start, eventually finishing runners up. Five years later they were champions. In 1981–82, Dunkirk reached the semi-final of the Notts F.A. Intermediate Cup, a feat they repeated the following season. In the league they led Division One for much of the season. In 1986–87, the club finished 9th and reached the semi-final of the League Cup, losing 2–0 to John Player. The following season saw the club improve on that semi-final by winning the League Cup. Dunkirk is a residential area of Nottingham, England which is located to the south-east of the University of Nottingham and the Queen's Medical Centre. It is in the electoral ward of 'Dunkirk and Lenton', part of the Nottingham South constituency, with a population of 10,920 in the 2011 census. While home to many permanent residents of Nottingham, the area also houses numerous students, including many international students, mainly from east and south-east Asia. The area has become increasingly popular in the last decade due to its proximity to the university. Dunkirk has a nursery, primary school and the Nottingham University Academy of Science and Technology; socially, there is the Old Lenton and Dunkirk Community Centre. 2020–21 East Midlands Counties Football League
The 2020–21 East Midlands Counties Football League season was the 13th and final season of the East Midlands Counties Football League, a football competition in England at level 10 of the English football league system. The allocations for Steps 3 to 6 for season 2020–21 were announced by the FA on 21 July 2020. The season started in September and was suspended in December a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. The league season was subsequently abandoned in February 2021. Promotions and restructuring The scheduled restructuring of non-League took place at the end of the season, with new divisions added to the Combined Counties and United Counties leagues at Step 5 for 2021-22, along with new a division in the Northern Premier League at step 4. Midland Football Alliance
The Midland Football Alliance was an English association football league for semi-professional teams. It covered Leicestershire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands, Worcestershire and also southern parts of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. The league consisted of a single division which sat at Step 5 of the National League System, or the ninth level of the overall English football league system. The league was formed in 1994, drawing its initial membership from the strongest clubs in the Midland Football Combination and the West Midlands (Regional) League, both of which became feeder leagues to the new competition. Each season, the champion club of each feeder league was eligible for promotion to the Alliance, and Alliance clubs could in turn be relegated to the feeder leagues. The Football Association Challenge Vase, usually referred to as the FA Vase, is an annual football competition for teams playing in Steps 5 and 6 of the English National League System (or equivalently, tier 9 or 10 of the overall English football league system). For the 2017–18 season 619 entrants were accepted, with two qualifying rounds preceding the six proper rounds, semi-finals (played over two legs) and final to be played at Wembley Stadium. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA). The Nottinghamshire Senior League is an English football league. The competition is a feeder to the Northern Counties East League and the United Counties League.
