Dungeoneer
''Dungeoneer'' (ISBN 0-14-032936-6) is the first of the three rule books that make up the Advanced Fighting Fantasy roleplaying game. It was written by Marc Gascoigne and Pete Tamlyn, illustrated by John Sibbick and was originally published in 1989. The system is based on Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone's Fighting Fantasy series. Although the Fighting Fantasy Gamebooks are currently being republished by Wizard, there are currently no plans to republish any of the Advanced Fighting Fantasy books. Structure The book begins with a simple overview of the rules of the system and a sample adventure to introduce players and GameMasters to the rules. The book then provides the full rules for the Advanced Fighting Fantasy system. There is then a full adventure, followed by a few suggestions on how the GameMaster could go about running a full AFF campaign. ''Advanced Fighting Fantasy'' (AFF) is a British roleplaying game based on the ''Fighting Fantasy'' and ''Sorcery!'' gamebooks, first published in 1989. Just as the gamebooks, AFF is set in the world of Titan. A second edition of AFF was published in 2011. AFF is chiefly meant to facilitate the games master to write his or her own adventures inspired by ''Fighting Fantasy''. The few adventures published for the game are brand new adventures specifically written for the system as opposed to converting existing gamebook stories for multiplayer RPG usage. AFF is unrelated to both the Myriador d20 conversions of several gamebooks by Jamie Wallis, and the electronic conversions of the ''Sorcery!'' series by inkle. Both of these feature unique rules not seen elsewhere in the ''Fighting Fantasy'' brand. Marc Gascoigne (born 5 July 1962 at Temple Ewell with River, near Dover, Kent) is a British author and editor. He is the editor, author or co-author of more than fifty books and gaming related titles, notably various ''Fighting Fantasy'' books, ''Shadowrun'' novels and adventures, ''Earthdawn'' novels and adventures, the original Games Workshop ''Judge Dredd'' roleplaying game, and material for ''Paranoia'', '' Call of Cthulhu'' and many others listed below. AF4/FMR2 family member 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ''AFF1'' gene. At its same location was a record for a separate PBM1 gene, which has since been withdrawn and considered an alias. It was previously known as AF4 (ALL1-fused gene from chromosome 4). Steve Jackson (born 20 May 1951) is a British game designer, writer, game reviewer and co-founder of UK game publisher Games Workshop. History Steve Jackson began his career in games in 1974 as a freelance journalist with ''Games & Puzzles'' magazine. In early 1975, Jackson co-founded the company Games Workshop with school friends John Peake and Ian Livingstone. They started publishing a monthly newsletter, ''Owl and Weasel'', which was largely written by Jackson, and sent copies of the first issue to subscribers of ''Albion'' fanzine; Brian Blume, co-partner of American publisher TSR, received one of these copies and in return sent back a copy of TSR's new game ''Dungeons & Dragons''. Ian Livingstone
Sir Ian Livingstone (born 29 December 1949) is an English fantasy author and entrepreneur. Along with Steve Jackson, he is the co-founder of a series of role-playing gamebooks, ''Fighting Fantasy'', and the author of many books within that series. He is also one of the co-founders of prominent games company Games Workshop. Early life Livingstone attended Altrincham Grammar School for Boys, where, according to him, he only earned one A-level, in Geography. He has kept his close links with the school and has visited it on numerous occasions, including to donate money for a refurbishment of the ICT suite, and to present awards to GCSE recipients in 1998. Dragon Warriors
Dragon Warriors is a fantasy role playing game system written by Dave Morris and Oliver Johnson and published by Corgi Books between the years 1985 and 1986. In 2009, it was re-collected in a new hardcover edition by Mongoose Publishing. This print run included the publication of several supplements to the Dragon Warrior's world "Legend". However, as of September 2010, this publication run has been discontinued but the books continue to remain available in pdf format. Unlike most RPGs which were (and are) primarily presented as box sets or large hardback or softback books, Dragon Warriors consisted of six paperback books of ordinary size. Dragon Warriors is set in the world of Legend, the same as that of the Blood Sword game books.
