Lord David Dundas
Lord David Paul Nicholas Dundas (born 2 June 1945) is an English musician and actor, best known for his chart success in the pop genre during the 1970s as well as his later career in film and television scores. Biography Dundas was born in Oxford, the second son of Lawrence Dundas, 3rd Marquess of Zetland, and his wife Penelope Pike. As a younger son of a marquess, he is entitled to the courtesy title 'Lord'. He was educated at Harrow and the Central School of Speech and Drama. While at the Central School, Dundas shared a Camden Town house with actor Vivian MacKerrell and film director Bruce Robinson. The house on Albert Street had been bought by his parents for him to live in, eventually according to Dundas himself "15 people were living there - there were three bedrooms". Those years served as the basis for Robinson's unpublished memoir and the film ''Withnail & I'' (1987). Dundas co-wrote the score for the film, considered "one of Britain's biggest cult films". David Dundas (British Army Officer)
General Sir David Dundas (1735 – 18 February 1820) was a British Army officer who fought in the Seven Years' War and French Revolutionary Wars, wrote important texts on the ''Principles of Military Movements'' and then served as Commander-in-Chief of the Forces from 1809 to 1811. Military service The son of Robert Dundas, a Scottish merchant, and Margaret Dundas (née Watson), Dundas was enrolled at the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich. Whilst still a cadet at the Academy he spent some time with his uncle, Colonel David Watson, the Director of the Military Survey of the Highlands, where he was grounded in the arts of surveying under the tutelage of William Roy. He graduated as a lieutenant-fireworker in the Royal Artillery on 1 March 1755. Sir David Dundas, 1st Baronet
Sir David Dundas, 1st Baronet (7 December 1749 – 10 January 1826) was a surgeon who was created 1st Baronet of Richmond. Dundas was the son of Ralph Dundas and Mary née Ferguson. He was appointed Sergeant Surgeon to the King in 1792. He was Household Apothecary at Kew but not officially Apothecary to the King. He assisted at the post mortem on Princess Charlotte on 7 November 1817 and was Physician to the Duke of Kent from 1816 to 1817 and Surgeon to the Duke of Kent from 1818 to 1820. Dundas was a prominent figure in the Royal College of Surgeons and was Master of the College in 1804, 1811 and 1819. Sir David Barnett Dundas, 2nd Baronet, (28 August 1803 – 30 March 1877) was a Scottish advocate, Liberal Party (UK), Liberal politician and agricultural improver. Life He was the son of Robert Dundas of Beechwood, 1st Baronet Dundas (1761–1835) and Matilda Cockburn (daughter of Archibald Cockburn). He was born at the family mansion of Beechwood House near Corstorphine, west Edinburgh on 28 August 1803. In 1824, he acquired Henry Dundas's estate of Dunira, Perthshire, Dunira in Perthshire. On his father's death in 1835, David became the 2nd Baronet. Dundas was educated at Westminster School and at Christ Church, Oxford. He was called to the Bar at the Inner Temple in 1824, and appointed Queen's Counsel in February 1840. He was elected to represent Sutherland (UK Parliament constituency), Sutherland in Parliament as a Liberal Party (UK), Liberal in March 1840.
