Duncan Urquhart (cyclist)
Duncan Urquhart (18 August 1908 – 28 April 1956) was a Scottish footballer, who played for Hibernian, Aberdeen, Barrow, and Waterford.Smith, Paul (2013). ''Scotland Who's Who''. Pitch Publishing. p. 277. Urquhart represented Scotland once, in a 1934 British Home Championship match against Wales. Career Urquhart, a "tough tackler" from Newton Stewart, was signed by Hibs during the 1929–30 season. Urquhart was part of the side as Hibs were relegated the following season, but then gained promotion back to the top flight in 1933. He won his only cap for Scotland later that year, but was released by Hibs in 1935 after a heavy Edinburgh derby defeat by Hearts; Urquhart then signed for Aberdeen. Edinburgh Derby
The Edinburgh derby is an informal title given to any football match played between Scottish clubs Heart of Midlothian (Hearts) and Hibernian (Hibs), the two oldest professional clubs based in Edinburgh, Scotland. The two clubs have a fierce rivalry that dates back to the clubs being founded in the mid-1870s, which makes it one of the longest running rivalries in world football. The first match between the clubs was played on the Meadows on Christmas Day 1875. The matches are normally played at either Easter Road or Tynecastle.
