Duncan Campbell Scott
Duncan Campbell Scott (August 2, 1862 – December 19, 1947) was a Canadian civil servant and poet and prose writer. With Charles G.D. Roberts, Bliss Carman, and Archibald Lampman, he is classed as one of Canada's Confederation Poets. A career civil servant, Scott served as deputy superintendent of the Department of Indian Affairs from 1913 to 1932. Life and legacy Scott was born in Ottawa, Ontario, the son of Rev. William Scott, a Methodist preacher, and Janet MacCallum. He was educated at Stanstead Wesleyan College. Early in life, he became an accomplished pianist. Scott wanted to be a doctor, but family finances were precarious, so in 1879 he joined the federal civil service. William Scott might not have money uthe had connections in high places. Duncan Scott (comics)
Duncan Scott (died 2021) was a comics artist. He had been working freelance since completing a degree in visual communication in 1999. He has drawn for numerous comics and magazines and his work has appeared in The Beano, The National times, Blue Peter magazine, Disney Explorer magazine, BBC's Learning Is Fun magazine, BeanoMAX, The Dandy and Comic Football. His first artwork for The Beano included illustrations for the Rhyme Time sections (Taking over from Chris McGhie) which was a regular feature in The Beano during the first half of the 2000s, which saw readers send in rhymes. From 2001 he drew "Stripz" for The Beano which were usually a small single panel gag which featured in the comic occasionally filling half a page or more often as a gag at the bottom of a full page strip. His first regular full strip, Colin the Vet, appeared in The Beano in 2004. It came in second place in that year's Comic Idol competition but entered the comic anyway after only losing by one percent. ... Duncan Scott (director)
Duncan Scott (born May 28, 1947) is a film and television writer, director, and producer. Scott was one of the screenwriters of '' Atlas Shrugged: Part II'' and '' Atlas Shrugged: Part III''. Early in his career, he became involved in the restoration of the 1942 film ''We the Living'', a project that he continued to be involved in over the next several decades. Scott also directed and produced for television, winning several Emmy and Telly Awards, as well as being nominated for a Peabody Award. Career Scott began his career as a film editor. In 1969, he began working with Ayn Rand on re-editing an American version of the once-censored Italian film ''We the Living'', a film based on Rand's first novel. Scott has been interviewed several times about his involvement in the restoration of ''We the Living''.
