Dumkal College
Dumkal College, was founded on 21 September 1999 by the order of the Government of West Bengal in Domkal, Murshidabad. The college starts its functioning with a handful of students initiating their classes iB.T High School Dumkal. This is a co-education college and the only institution within the locality which ran from the very beginning with all the three streams: Arts, Science and Commerce. It is affiliated to University of Kalyani. The college is located in Basantapur, a remote village near the Indo - Bangladesh border in Dumkal subdivision. Domkal is a town and headquarters of the Domkal Subdivision in Murshidabad district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Geography Location Domkal is located at Area overview While the Lalbag subdivision is spread across both the natural physiographic regions of the district, Rarh and Bagri, the Domkal subdivision occupies the north-eastern corner of Bagri. University Grants Commission (UGC) is a statutory body set up by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India in accordance to the UGC Act 1956 and is charged with coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of higher education in India.
