Dularcha Railway Tunnel
Dularcha Railway Tunnel is a heritage-listed former railway tunnel at south of Mooloolah township in Landsborough, Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. It was built from 1890 to 1891 by T Jesser & Company. It is also known as North Coast Line No 1 : Mooloolah tunnel. It was also used during world war 1 and world war 2 as a transport route for injured troops. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 24 September 1999. History Dularcha Railway Tunnel, constructed in 1890–91, formed part of the section of railway from Landsborough to Yandina, which in turn was part of the North Coast railway line from Brisbane to Gympie. The construction of Queensland railways began in 1864, however, unlike other states, routes were constructed independently of each other. Consequently, while a rail line had extended north from Gympie to Maryborough since 1881, it was not until 1888 that a line was opened from Brisbane to create a link with Gympie. Mooloolah Valley is a rural locality in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Mooloolah Valley had a population of 3,321 people. Mooloolah is a town () within the locality. Maroochy River
The Maroochy River is a river in South East Queensland, Australia. The river rises from the eastern slopes of the Blackall Range and flows east through Eumundi, before entering the sea at Cotton Tree, Maroochydore. Eudlo Creek
Eudlo is a rural town and locality in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Eudlo had a population of 1,117 people. Geography Eudlo Creek rises in the south west of Eudlo. Also in the areas is Mossy Bank Mountain, a summit along an easterly protruding spur of the Blackall Range. Eudlo railway station is on the North Coast railway line (). History The name of Eudlo originated from the local Aboriginal term for the fresh water eel (''Anguilla reinhardtii''). Cattlemen and timbergetters came to the area from the 1860s, but land was not made available for agricultural selection until the 1880s. The first selector was James Steele in 1887. Mooloolah River
The Mooloolah River is a river in South East Queensland, Australia. The river rises from the eastern slopes of the Blackall Range and flows east-northeast, similar to the Maroochy River to the north. The mouth of the river is at southern Mooloolaba. The catchment area covers 221 km2. Addlington Creek, a tributary of the Mooloolah River was dammed by the Ewen Maddock Dam in 1973. Mountain Creek is another tributary that rises on the Buderim mountain that divides the Mooloolah and Maroochy watersheds. The gastric-brooding frog is a recently extinct frog that was discovered in only three catchments, the Mary River, Mooloolah River and Stanley Rivers. Nundah (previously called German Station) is an inner suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It contains the neighbourhood of Toombul. In the , Nundah had a population of 12,141 people. Prior to European settlement, Nundah was inhabited by Aboriginal people from the Turrbul tribe. Sandgate railway station is located on the Shorncliffe line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Sandgate. History The railway line from Brisbane to Sandgate opened in 1882. The terminal station was located near Curlew Street, behind the Osbourne Hotel, and was named Sandgate. The line was extended to Shorncliffe in 1897 and the new terminal station was named Sandgate while the original terminus was renamed Sandgate Central.
