Jim Duguid
Jim Duguid is a Scottish musician and songwriter best known for co-writing the Alex Clare song " Too Close". Biography A native of Glasgow, Duguid cut his teeth playing drums in a number of bands which centred around the vibrant 90's Glasgow music scene and the iconic King Tuts Wah Wah Hut. His drumming career began with the band Speedway, which he founded with fellow Glaswegian Jill Jackson in 2001. He developed his songwriting in sessions with Steve Robson, Guy Chambers and Star Gate. Speedway released one full-length album, '' Save Yourself'' (2003), before disbanding in 2004. Sir William Duguid Geddes (21 November 1828''Scotland, Select Births and Baptisms, 1564-1950''9 February 1900) was a Scottish scholar and educationalist, who promoted the cause of classical Greek at the University of Aberdeen and later became Principal. Geddes's classical translations, grammars and scholarship contributed to publications both written with collaborators and edited in series. One of the outstanding scholars of his generation in Scotland, he was the architect of the fusion of the modern University of Aberdeen and its High Victorian development. Nigel Duguid (born 25 November 1969) is a West Indian cricket umpire. He stood in his first Twenty20 International (T20I) match between the West Indies and Ireland on 21 February 2014. He stood in his first One Day International (ODI) match between the West Indies and England on 5 March 2017. In January 2018, he was named as one of the seventeen on-field umpires for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Naomi Duguid
Naomi Duguid (born 1950 in Ottawa, Ontario) is a food writer and photographer from Canada. Duguid is based in Toronto and has coauthored six cookbooks, and well as ''Burma: Rivers of Flavor'' in 2012 which was her first solo publication. She is best known for her cookbooks co-written with her ex-husband Jeffrey Alford. Duguid attended Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario and proceeded through law school. After travelling around the world Naomi met Jeffrey Alford in Tibet in 1985 and the two were soon married. She quit her job as a lawyer and went into writing cookbooks in 1995. She has jointly put out five books with her husband on world cooking. All five books have gone on to be major successes and have won Cookbook of the Year from the James Beard Foundation in 1996 and 2001 as well as Cuisine Canada Cookbook Award in 1999 and 2004. Karl Anthony Duguid (born 21 March 1978) is an English former professional footballer. He spent the majority of his playing career with Colchester United where, over two stints, he made over 400 league appearances. He also played for Plymouth Argyle before finishing his professional career at Colchester, where he became a coach following his retirement in 2014. Irvin Duguid (born 18 December 1969, in Aberchirder, Aberdeenshire) is a Scottish musician and composer. He studied piano and violin at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow before going on to become keyboard player in the live line-up of Stiltskin, a rock band with the number 1 hit single "Inside" in the UK in 1994. Duguid went on to work with other Scottish acts such as Gun (later to change their name to g.u.n. in the wake of the Dunblane massacre) and then Fish (singer), Fish (ex-Marillion vocalist). Don Duguid
Donald Gordon Duguid (born January 25, 1935) is a Canadian champion curler. A three-time winner of the Canadian Brier and two-time World Curling champion, Duguid won the Brier in 1965, 1970 and 1971, and the Worlds in 1970 and 1971. He was only the second skip ever to win back to back Briers in 1971. He was inducted into the Canadian Curling Hall of Fame in 1974, Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 1991, and the WCF Hall of Fame in 2013. In 2014, he was made a member of the Order of Manitoba. In 1981, his 1970 & 1971 teams were inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame.
