Dugopolje is a municipality in Croatia in the Split-Dalmatia County. The name ''Dugopolje'' literally translates as 'long field'. The town has a population of over 3469, 99.5% which are Croats. Noted in Dugopolje is Vranjača cave. Dugopolje is located 15 km from the city of Split. Dugopolje is located at the junction of the A1 Zagreb–Split–Dubrovnik motorway linking the north and the south of Croatia and the D1 Split-Sinj state road linking the coast and the hinterland of Central Dalmatia. Split Airport is 28 km from Dugopolje, making the area an attractive place to stay for those wanting to avoid crowded areas closer to Split. The A1 motorway ( hr, Autocesta A1) is the longest motorway in Croatia, spanning . As it connects the nation's capital Zagreb to the second largest city Split, the motorway represents a major north–south transportation corridor in Croatia and a significant part of the Adriatic–Ionian motorway. NK Dugopolje is a professional Croatian association football, football club based in the town of Dugopolje on the outskirts of Split (city), Split, a city on the Adriatic coast. Mijo Caktaš (born 8 May 1992) is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for NK Osijek in Prva HNL. Club career A native of Dugopolje, Mijo Caktaš started training with his hometown club NK Dugopolje, moving to the " NK Omladinac Vranjic" youth team when he was 14. Andrija Balić (; born 11 August 1997) is a Croatian footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Slovak side MFK Dukla Banská Bystrica in the Fortuna Liga, on loan from FC DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda. Club career Early career Born in Split but living in nearby Dugopolje, Balić started to train football at the local NK Dugopolje, before moving to the Hajduk Split academy in 2007. Passing through the ranks, he became a youth international, playing for all Croatian selections between U14 and U19. The land area is 14.106,40 km2. Zdravko Dizdar
Zdravko Dizdar (born 27 January 1948) is a Croatian historian. Background Dizdar attended elementary school in Orolik at Vinkovci from grades 1–4, before spending grades 5–8 in his native town of Oklaj. From there, he attended a grammar school in 1962 at Zemun. He began to study history in 1966 at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Philosophy, and graduated in 1970. He continued his education at the University of Zagreb. Between 1972 and 1980, Dizdar worked as a curator at the Pounja Regional Museum in Bihać. Jadro River
The Jadro is a watercourse in Dalmatia, Croatia, that discharges into the Adriatic Sea. The upper reaches of the Jadro River, as well as its source, Jadro Spring, are protected as an ichthyological nature reserve, partly due to the presence of an endemic species of soft-mouthed trout. The headwaters of the Jadro River were the original water supply for the ancient city comprised by Diocletian's Palace (now an area within the present day city of Split). Contemporary studies indicate favourable water quality levels of the river near the headwaters at Jadro Spring. The Jadro flows through the town of Solin and has a length of approximately four kilometres' moreover, the river provides water to the cities of Split, Kaštela and Trogir.
