Isabelle Duchesnay
Isabelle Duchesnay (born December 18, 1963 in Aylmer, Quebec, Canada) is a retired ice dancer who represented France for most of her career. With her brother Paul Duchesnay, she is the 1991 World champion and the 1992 Olympic silver medalist. Career The Duchesnays started skating at an early age in Canada in pairs. Their first major success came at the 1982 Canadian Nationals, where they placed second in the junior competition. After a serious accident where Isabelle hit her head, they switched to ice dancing. Over time, the Duchesnays’ skating became more innovative and revolutionary with help from 1984 Olympic champion Christopher Dean. After Skate Canada criticized their skating, they decided to leave the Canadian team. In 1985, they began skating for their mother’s homeland, France. Antoine Juchereau Duchesnay (seigneur)
Antoine Juchereau Duchesnay (February 7, 1740 – December 15, 1806) was the seigneurial system of New France, Seigneur of Beauport, Quebec, Beauport, Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, Saint-Denis, Fossambault-sur-le-Lac, Fossambault, Gaudarville, and Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies, Quebec, Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies. He fought with the Troupes de marine, Troupes de Marine and after the British Conquest of New France joined the British Army, defending Fort Saint-Jean (Quebec), Fort Saint-Jean where he was captured and imprisoned by the United States, Americans in 1775. He represented Buckingham County in the 1st Parliament of Lower Canada and was afterwards appointed a member of the Executive Council of Lower Canada. Michel-Louis Juchereau Duchesnay
Michel-Louis Juchereau Duchesnay (December 14, 1785 – August 17, 1838) was a Canadians, Canadian Officer (armed forces), officer, Seigneurial system of New France, seigneur, and justice of the peace. He was the son of Antoine Juchereau Duchesnay (seigneur), Antoine Juchereau Duchesnay. Both he and his brother, Jean-Baptiste Duchesnay, served in the British Army with the King's Royal Rifle Corps. Duchesnay received his commission in 1805 and quit his regiment with the rank of lieutenant in January 1806. He then returned to Canada to look after his family's estates. There, he married the sister of Colonel Charles de Salaberry. He later served as a captain in the Voltigeurs Canadiens during the War of 1812. Antoine-Louis Juchereau Duchesnay
Antoine-Louis Juchereau Duchesnay (February 18, 1767 РFebruary 17, 1825) was a seigneur, soldier and political figure in Lower Canada. He was born at Quebec City in 1765, the son of Antoine Juchereau Duchesnay, and studied at the Petit S̩minaire de Qu̩bec. He served as lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Volunteer Regiment from 1798 to 1802. Juchereau Duchesnay was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada for Hampshire in 1804; he represented the county until 1810 when he was named to the Legislative Council. He inherited the seigneury of Beauport from his father in 1806. In 1809, he became assistant to the adjutant general for the Lower Canada militia. He was named justice of the peace in 1813 and commander of the Beauport militia in 1816. In 1817, he was named to the Executive Council; he had been an honorary member since 1812. Elzéar-Henri Juchereau Duchesnay
Elz̩ar-Henri Juchereau Duchesnay (July 19, 1809 РMay 12, 1871) was a seigneur, lawyer and political figure in Canada East. He also served in the Senate of Canada from 1867 until his death. Juchereau Duchesnay, also sometimes referred to as Henri-Elz̩ar, was born in Beauport, Lower Canada in 1809, the son of Antoine-Louis Juchereau Duchesnay. He studied law, was called to the bar in 1832 and settled at Sainte-Marie-de-la-Beauce. In 1838, on the death of his first wife, Julie Perrault, daughter of Jean-Baptiste-Olivier Perrault, he inherited part of the seigneury of Sainte-Marie. In 1846, he became lieutenant-colonel in the local militia. He was also interested in farming and was president of the county agricultural society. He was elected to the Legislative Council of the Province of Canada in 1856 for the Lauzon division and served until Confederation, when he was appointed to the Canadian Senate. Édouard-Louis-Antoine-Charles Juchereau Duchesnay (November 8, 1809 – September 10, 1886) was a political figure in Canada East and a Conservative Party of Canada (historical), Conservative member of the Senate of Canada. He was born in Quebec City in 1809, the son of Michel-Louis Juchereau Duchesnay and Charlotte-Hermine-Louise-Catherine d'Irumberry de Salaberry, who was the daughter of Ignace-Michel-Louis-Antoine d'Irumberry de Salaberry. He studied law and was called to the bar in 1832, but never practised. He inherited the seigneurial system of New France, seigneuries of Fossambault and Gaudarville when his father died in 1838. He served as deputy adjutant-general in the Lower Canada militia from 1839 to 1842 and was later a lieutenant-colonel in the Portneuf militia.
