Dubrovsky (novel)
''Dubrovsky'' (russian: «Дубровский») is an unfinished novel by Alexander Pushkin, written in 1832 and published after Pushkin's death in 1841. The name ''Dubrovsky'' was given by the editor. Plot summary Andrei Dubrovsky is an old poor nobleman whose land is confiscated by a greedy, rich and powerful aristocrat, Kirila Petrovitch Troekurov. His young son Wladimir, determined to venge his father and to get justice one way or another, gathers a band of serfs and goes on the rampage, stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. A WikiProject, or Wikiproject, is a Wikimedia movement affinity group for contributors with shared goals. The Eagle (1925 Film)
''The Eagle'' is a 1925 American silent drama film directed by Clarence Brown and starring Rudolph Valentino, Vilma Bánky, and Louise Dresser. Based on the posthumously published 1841 novel '' Dubrovsky'' by Alexander Pushkin, the film is about a lieutenant in the Russian army who catches the eye of Czarina Catherine II. After he rejects her advances and flees, she puts out a warrant for his arrest, dead or alive. When he learns that his father has been persecuted and killed, he dons a black mask and becomes an outlaw. William Dieterle
William Dieterle (July 15, 1893 – December 9, 1972) was a German-born actor and film director who emigrated to the United States in 1930 to leave a worsening political situation. He worked in Hollywood primarily as a director for much of his career, becoming a United States citizen in 1937. He moved back to Germany in the late 1950s. ''Dubrowsky'' ( it, Il vendicatore) is a 1959 Italian - Yugoslav historical drama film directed by William Dieterle. It is based on the posthumously published 1841 novel '' Dubrovsky'' by Alexander Pushkin. Plot Russia in 1831: two families, the Dubrowskys and the Petrovichs, have been at loggerheads with each other ever since the nouveau riche Kirila Petrovich once deprived old Dubrowsky of large parts of his property. Rossano Brazzi (18 September 1916 – 24 December 1994) was an Italian actor. Biography Brazzi was born in Bologna, Italy, the son of Maria Ghedini and Adelmo Brazzi, an employee of the Rizzoli shoe factory. Riccardo Freda (24 February 1909 – 20 December 1999) was an Italian film director. He worked in a variety of genres, including sword-and-sandal, horror film, horror, ''giallo'' and spy films. ''The Black Eagle'' ( it, Aquila nera) is a 1946 Italian historical adventure drama film directed by Riccardo Freda and starring Rossano Brazzi, Irasema Dilián and Gino Cervi. It was released as ''Return of the Black Eagle'' in the United States. The film is based on the unfinished 1832 Russian novel '' Dubrovsky'' by Alexander PushkinTesta p.6 (1799–1837). Mikhail Mikhaylovich Moskvin (russian: Михаил Михайлович Москвин, 19 September 1877, Moscow, Imperial Russia, — 18 August 1948, Moscow, USSR) was a Russian and Soviet stage actor and theatre director, better known by his stage name Mikhail Tarkhanov (Тарханов). Having made his stage debut in 1898 on stage the Ryazan Theatre, he performed in numerous troupes (including those led by Nikolai Sinelnikov and Vasily Kachalov) before joining the Moscow Art Theatre in 1922 where he soon became one of the leading actors and, in the late 1920s, a stage director.
