Boris Anatolievich Dubrovin (russian: Борис Анатольевич Дубровин; 6 April 1950 – 19 March 2019) was a Russian mathematician, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (1984). Boris Savvovich Dubrovin (real surname Gall, patronymic in some sources Savvich; ; 24 May 1926 – 25 June 2020) was a Soviet and Russian poet, songwriter and author. He was a veteran of the Great Patriotic War. Biography Dubrovin was born in Moscow in 1926. His father was Savva Semenovich Gall, from Uman, Kiev Governorate, and his mother was Esfir Abelevna Khaza, from Pinsk, Minsk Governorate. His father was a typographic worker in his youth, and in the Russian Civil War he was a commissar in the First Cavalry Army. His grandfather was a church watchman. His father had a younger sister. In 1936, when Dubrovin was 9 years old, his father was arrested as an enemy of the people, and after a while his mother was arrested for not reporting on the enemy of the people. Dubrovin Farm
Dubrovin Farm ( he, אחוזת דוברובין) was one of the first farms in the Hulah Valley. It was established by Andrey Dubrovin (1863–1967) who moved to Ottoman Palestine with his family in 1903. History Dubrovin left Astrakhan and settled in the north of the country near Yesod HaMa'ala. Dubrovin and his family were Subbotniks, Russian Christians who kept seventh-day Sabbath. After their conversion to Judaism, they took Hebrew names. Andrey became "Yoav", and his wife became "Rachel". The family farm, on a plot of 650 dunams, was located near a malaria-ridden swamp. Two of Dubrovin's sons and two grandchildren died of the illness. Dubrovin eventually moved most of his family to Rosh Pinna, leaving behind his eldest son, Yitzhak, to manage the buildings, fruit orchards, and gardens.
