Dubravko Ledić
Dubravko Ledić (born 1950) is a former Bosnian footballer who played as a midfielder. Career He began his career with FK Velež Mostar of the Yugoslav First League, with whom he played for over a decade and played in 11 European matches with the club in the UEFA Cup and UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. In 1983, he moved to North America and joined Canadian club Edmonton Eagles of the Canadian Professional Soccer League. He scored his first goal on June 5, 1983 against the Calgary Mustangs. He was named league MVP for the 1983 season as Edmonton won the league championship. Afterwards, he played indoor soccer with the Tacoma Stars and Chicago Sting. Calgary Mustangs (CPSL)
The Calgary Mustangs were a Canadian professional soccer team in Calgary, Alberta that competed in the original Canadian Professional Soccer League in 1983. History After the original five CPSL clubs were announced, Calgary was later announced as the sixth franchise. After being turned down by a couple of local investors, the league was able to convince West German player agent Edgar Edringer to invest in a team and the team was officially unveiled on February 24, 1983. Edringer announced his intention to be heavily involved with the franchise, moving to the city and serving as the team's general manager as well. He was confident that the team would be successful, unlike the former NASL Calgary Boomers who operated for only one season in 1981 before folding due to losses of over $2 million despite setting an NASL attendance record of averageing over 11,000 fans, in part due to his knowledge of the sport. Chicago Sting (NASL) Players
The Chicago Sting (1974–1988) was an American professional soccer team representing Chicago. The Sting played in the North American Soccer League from 1975 to 1984 and in the Major Indoor Soccer League in the 1982–83 season and again from 1984 to 1988. They were North American Soccer League champions in 1981 and 1984, one of only two NASL teams (the New York Cosmos) to win the championship twice. The Sting were founded in 1974 by Lee Stern of Chicago and competed in the NASL for the first time in the 1975 season. A few years after founding the Sting, Stern brought Willy Roy on as head coach.
