Dublin Liberal Unionist Association

They supported Chamberlins Trade and Tariff policies. It supported Liberal Unionist figures in city politics, and candidates in the 1906 General Election. Liberal Unionist
The Liberal Unionist Party was a British political party that was formed in 1886 by a faction that broke away from the Liberal Party. Led by Lord Hartington (later the Duke of Devonshire) and Joseph Chamberlain, the party established a political alliance with the Conservative Party in opposition to Irish Home Rule. John Lincoln Mahon
John Lincoln Mahon (8 June 1865 – 19 November 1933) was a Scottish trade unionist and politician, best known as a prominent socialist activist. Mahon was born in Edinburgh, to Irish parents, with the surname "McMahon". He followed in his father's trade by becoming an engine fitter.Derek Fraser, ''A History of Modern Leeds'', p.386 Mahon was an early member of the Social Democratic Federation (SDF), in June 1884 launching "The Social Reform Publishing Company", a venture that did not last more than a few months, but also leading socialist propaganda in Edinburgh. However, instead of forming an Edinburgh branch of the SDF, they formed the Scottish Land and Labour League which affiliated to the SDF. Mahon sided with William Morris when he seceded with a majority of the SDF executive to form the Socialist League. James Alexander Porterfield Rynd
James Alexander Porterfield Rynd (6 April 1846 – 17 March 1917) was an Irish chess player and lawyer. He was born on 6 April 1846 the son of Dublin solicitor James William Goodlatte RyndKing's Inn's Barristers, 1868–2004, edited by Kenneth Ferguson, 2005 and Isabella Susannah Stephens Rynd. Porterfield Rynd's uncle (his fathers half brother) was Dr. Francis Rynd the inventor of the hollow needle syringe. His cousin, Maria Rynd, was First Lady of Bolivia in 1879. He won the Dublin Chess Congress No. 3 Tournament in 1865. This tournament, run alongside an international chess tournament in Dublin, was reserved for residents of Ireland and is widely considered to be the first Irish Chess Championship. Porterfield Rynd's birth date is often listed incorrectly as 1855 this has led some books to cast doubt on his claim to the Irish championship in 1865, such as ''The Guinness Book of Chess Records'' by Ken Whyld.
