Dublin County F.C. was a short-lived Irish soccer (association football) club based in Dublin. The club made an unsuccessful application to participate in the 2021 League of Ireland First Division. History Dublin County FC were backed by a group of investors calling themselves Irish Sea FC, a group that launched an ultimately unsuccessful effort to buy Cabinteely in 2020. Among the group's directors are former Sunderland captain Chris Makin, ex-Crystal Palace player Jamie Fullarton, American coach Dennis Lukens, and Alex and Sibrena Geraldino, co-owners of American club New Jersey Teamsterz. The latter are a married couple who quit their jobs to fulfil their dream of owning a football club, and took part in a Discovery Channel documentary called “I Quit” which followed the progress of selected entrepreneurs starting new ventures. The 2021 League of Ireland First Division season was the 37th season of the League of Ireland First Division, the second tier of Ireland's association football league. The fixture list was released on 8 February 2021 and the competition commenced on 26 March 2021. Shelbourne were confirmed Champions and promoted to the League of Ireland Premier Division on 1 October 2021. Overview The First Division has 10 teams. Cabinteely () is a suburb of Dublin's southside. It is in Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, County Dublin, Ireland. Geography Cabinteely lies around the crossroads of Johnstown Road / Brennanstown Road and the Old Bray Road, and on either side of the ''Stillorgan Dual Carriageway'' ( N11), which is parallel to the Old Bray Road. Chris Makin
Christopher Gregory Makin (born 8 May 1973) is an English retired professional footballer. He spent the final part of his career at Southampton, but is perhaps most famous for his spell at Sunderland. He played as a defender. His previous clubs are Oldham Athletic, Olympique de Marseille, Sunderland, Ipswich Town, Leicester City, Wigan Athletic, Derby County, Reading and Southampton. Jamie Fullarton
James Fullarton (born 20 July 1974) is a Scottish professional football manager and former player who recently left Walsall FC Fullarton played for several clubs in Scotland, France and England, including St Mirren, Bastia, Crystal Palace, Bolton Wanderers, Dundee United, Brentford and Southend United. He was briefly the manager of Notts County in 2016, but was dismissed after 12 games in charge. He managed National League club F.C. Halifax Town from February 2018 to July 2019. Dennis Lukens
Dennis Lukens (born June 28, 1952) is an American professional soccer coach and former player. Playing career Lukens played college soccer for Springfield College, and professionally for the Boston Storm. He was the founder of the Boston Storm. Coaching career He began his career as a coach with Bridgewater State College between 1988 and 1991. Lukens has been on the coaching staff of clubs such as the California Cougars (where he was Assistant Coach), and he was also Head Coach of both the Boston Storm, and the Bay Area Seals. He has also been Head Coach of the Saint Lucia under-23 national team, as well as Krystal Kherson in the Ukrainian Second League. New Jersey Teamsterz FC (known as New Jersey Teamsters FC until 2021) is an American professional soccer club based in Bayonne, New Jersey that plays in NISA Nation from 2021 and that will join the National Independent Soccer Association in 2022. The National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) is a professional men's soccer league in the United States. The league is in the third tier of American soccer and began play in 2019. NISA initially used a fall-to-spring season format with a winter break but have switched to spring-to-fall which is more common in the United States.
